Chapter 1705: Aiming For The Top Spot

"He... beat her just like that?" Someone from the stands asked with a shocked expression.

They didn't see Grey attack, all they saw was a trail of red light, and then all of a sudden, the young lady was in Grey's grasp. There was nothing she could do once held. They could see that she was struggling, trying to use her elemental attacks, but for some reason, she's unable to do that. Her essence has probably been sealed by Grey, which meant her defeat was certain.

"One move."

This was what caught most of these people by surprise, the fact that all Grey needed was one move for him to incapacitate his opponent.

On the higher platform where Lord Dante and the others were seated, the eyes of everyone shone brilliantly. Unlike those below the Eighth stage of the Sovereign Plane, everyone here, with the exception of a few Elders from the Pyrmond Faction saw what happened clearly. Grey blitzed through whatever attack the young lady was preparing and grabbed her by the neck. It seemed very simple, but it'll take only a skilled fighter to be able to achieve this, since he needed to make sure he wasn't hit by the attack, or use too much strength, killing his opponent in the process.

The entire event showed Lord Dante and the Elders from the Pyro Faction that Grey was a well-seasoned fighter. His age made this even more unbelievable. Being such a professional fighter at such an age is unheard of. One needs at least a few hundreds of years of battle experience to gain this knowledge and precision with their movements, but Grey already has them.

"This child is special." Lord Dante commented.

The rest of the Elders from the Pyro Faction nodded their heads to this. They were all skilled and aged, so they knew what it would take to achieve what Grey just did.

Back on the battling platform.

Grey looked in the direction of the Elder who was in charge of calling the fight. And only after seeing Grey's gaze did the Elder come out of his shocked state. He quickly announced the winner of the battle.

Grey let go of the young lady's neck after the result was announced.

"That's not fair, he cheated!" The young lady couldn't believe she was defeated in such a short time, and even seeing that Grey put little to no effort into it made her red from embarrassment.

She wanted to show this guy from the outside world what it's like to go toe to toe with a true genius, but she didn't even get the chance to show what she's made of before she was taken down, which was very embarrassing on her part!

"He didn't cheat, you were defeated fair and square. Unless you can beat anyone else off their spot, I'm afraid you've been eliminated." The Elder said to the young lady.

She was one of the twenty-five who had gotten a spot, yet Grey chased her out. There were a few who hadn't gotten one of the twenty-five spots, hence the reason for more people on the platform. However, there were more than fifteen who have already gotten a spot in the group from those in the Mid stages. Take the number one Fourth stage Sovereign for example, she has been able to clinch a spot. The same could be said for the number one Fifth and Sixth stage Sovereigns as well.

The young lady was frustrated, and knew that she needed to challenge someone else to retake a spot from the twenty-five. She accessed those standing and quickly challenged someone she was confident in beating.

Grey stood by the side as the young lady started her battle, he looked at the group standing as asked calmly.Nôv(el)B\\jnn

"Who's the number one in the Sixth stage?" His question caught the others by surprise. They didn't think he would go for that.

"Kid, even though you managed to beat her, don't overestimate yourself. You've gotten a spot to train with us, don't hurt yourself just because you got a fluke win." Xaden was the one who spoke up.

He wasn't the one who got the position of number one in the Sixth stage, and even when he tried, he was defeated. He didn't think Grey would be able to beat the young lady who is the first among the Sixth stage Sovereigns.

"Thank you for your concern, but I'm fine." Grey's eyes were calm as he looked around. He saw a young lady watching him with a hint of curiosity. Seeing Grey look over, she winked at him while giving a seductive laugh before she walked out.

She wore a red gown that had a split which ran all the way to just a few centimeters above her knees. Part of her thighs were slightly visible from the split. Her long black hair fell till was just below her shoulders, curling at the end. Her brown big eyes seemed as if they wanted to peer into the heart of anyone, and her red lips, and pearly white teeth made each smile and attempt to speak, eloquent.

"You're challenging me for the top spot?" she asked with a playful smile.

"There's something I want, and the only way I can get it is by taking your position, I'm sorry." Grey explained calmly.

"Oh... interesting." The young lady seemed to have known what Grey was after with just that statement, and her curiosity towards this young man from the outside world increased.

Xaden looked at the way the young lady stared at Grey and he felt his body shake from a hint of anger. Irritation was soon evident in his eyes.

"Humph! People that don't know when to stop." He snorted in disdain, awaiting for Grey to be taken down.

He knew he couldn't get the number one spot, this wasn't the first time he had sparred with this young lady, but he has failed every single time. So he didn't even bother to challenge her here. She got the first spot with relative ease since everyone knew what she was capable of doing.

Grey and the young lady stood on the platform opposite each other, Grey bowed, "Please." "After the competition, why don't we hang out?" The young lady gave Grey a warm smile. "We'll see." Grey's reply wasn't optimistic, but the young lady didn't feel angered by it.
