Chapter 135
Qiao Chuchu sat stiffly in her seat, glancing at Lou Tingsi.
His beautiful eyes carried an unreadable emotion, his gaze lingering ambiguously on her lips.
Qiao Chuchu was both startled and suspicious.
[What’s he doing? Surely he’s not thinking of kissing me, right?]
His eyes darkened, his Adam’s apple bobbing as he shifted his gaze to her wet, glistening eyes.
Qiao Chuchu instinctively covered her mouth.
[If he dares to kiss me, I’ll push him off this plane!!]
Lou Tingsi: “?”
He chuckled softly, then turned away and sat back properly.
Qiao Chuchu’s face flushed red. She straightened up and obediently ate the strawberry.
[Is this the advantage of an older man? Even though he’s a real father figure, he doesn’t give off that “dad” vibe. Every move he makes is kind of sexy?]
She stole a glance at Lou Tingsi.
Lou Tingsi leaned back comfortably, eyes closed, resting.
Being this close, she noticed that his skin, despite being a man who always carried a gun, was surprisingly smooth and tender.
His nose was delicate and slightly upturned.
Qiao Chuchu sighed inwardly: [Ah, God really does favor the beautiful. No matter what, good-looking people are just perfect in every way.]
Lou Tingsi’s lips curved slightly, still resting with his eyes closed.
He was already carrying the faint scent of Qiao Chuchu’s perfume.
It was a subtle, not overpowering fragrance.
Familiar.
“What perfume are you wearing?” he asked, eyes still closed.
Qiao Chuchu thought for a moment. “Chanel’s Gabrielle Essence.”
It was one of the perfumes from the bouquet Lou Yuejue had given her recently.
She added, “It was a gift from Lou Yuejue. I like it so much that I’ve been wearing it exclusively lately. I didn’t expect your little brother to have such good taste.”
Lou Tingsi’s lips curled into a smile.
Actually, it was he who had chosen that particular bottle of Gabrielle.
It was the only one he had picked.
He slowly opened his eyes, his smile meaningful. “Thank you for the compliment.”
Qiao Chuchu waved her hand, smiling. “You’re welcome.”
She sighed inwardly: [It’s just that you’re so stubborn. If only you’d listen to me, I wouldn’t have to come up with another plan to deal with the traitor.]
Lou Tingsi’s brows furrowed almost imperceptibly. “Miss Qiao, about the traitor situation you mentioned earlier—I’ve already come up with a plan.”
Qiao Chuchu was taken aback, her interest piqued. “What plan?”
Lou Tingsi: “During the transaction, I’ll tell my three most trusted subordinates three different locations, claiming that’s where I’ll be hiding.”
“Whoever comes to kill me is the traitor.”
Lou Tingsi’s dark eyes carried a stormy, murderous intent, but his voice remained gentle. “What do you think?”
Qiao Chuchu thought for a moment, then nodded. “That seems like the simplest way. But what if all three of them come for you at the same time?”
Lou Tingsi chuckled, turning to look ahead. “That won’t happen. During business, they’ll be stationed in three different directions for support. They won’t know what the others are doing. Only the one with ambition will make a move.”
“So don’t worry.”
His tone was calm and confident. “I’ll definitely find out who the traitor is.”
Qiao Chuchu looked at his confident profile and nodded firmly, clenching her fist.
[Great!]
[Someone like Lou Tingsi deserves to make money!]
[But I never expected him to be so easily swayed. He looks so cunning, yet he’s so quick to trust. I just casually mentioned that his forehead looked dark, and he believed me completely. Turns out he’s all brawn and no brains, hahahahahahahaha!]
Lou Tingsi: “…?”
By the time the plane landed at the private airport in Country F, it was already 4 a.m. in China.
But in Country F, it was 10 p.m.
Lou Tingsi leaned down and gently patted Qiao Chuchu’s shoulder. “Miss Qiao, we’ve landed.”
Qiao Chuchu didn’t even furrow her brows, sound asleep in her seat.
Her sleep quality was top-notch.
A flight attendant smiled and asked, “Should I wake the guest?”n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
Lou Tingsi waved his hand, unbuttoning his suit jacket. “No need. I’ll carry her. I don’t want her to wake up and then have trouble falling back asleep.”
The flight attendant’s eyes lit up, suppressing a smile as she stepped back, discreetly observing the two.
Lou Tingsi carefully unbuckled Qiao Chuchu’s seatbelt, draped a plane blanket over her, and even wrapped another blanket around her head, as if afraid she might catch a chill. He made sure every part of her was covered before gently lifting her into his arms.
Hmm?
Lou Tingsi was slightly surprised.
Qiao Chuchu always seemed so energetic, bouncing around all day, but she was surprisingly light.
He carried her through the aisle.
A friend of his, yawning, emerged from the other side and froze at the sight. “Holy crap?!”
Lou Tingsi shot him a warning glance and carried Qiao Chuchu off the plane.
Four people and a group of subordinates had been waiting for a while. They quickly approached as Lou Tingsi descended.
A tall woman in the center, her expression relaxed and smiling, stepped forward faster than the other three. “Boss!”
Her gaze shifted downward, landing on Qiao Chuchu. Her smile instantly stiffened.
A bespectacled man walked up calmly, also surprised at the sight of Qiao Chuchu, but he wisely lowered his voice. “Boss? Who’s this?”
A tall, muscular man glanced at Qiao Chuchu and smirked. “The boss’s girlfriend, obviously. What else could she be? His daughter?”
A man who looked to be in his sixties chuckled, turning to the bespectacled man. “Exactly, Zhu Changming. When have you ever seen the boss bring another woman to meet us, let alone carry her in his arms?”
Zhu Changming lowered his head, embarrassed. “Uncle Wang, you’re teasing me again. I just wanted to hear the boss confirm it himself.”
The woman beside them, however, remained silent, her expression dark as she glared at Qiao Chuchu.
Qiao Chuchu groggily opened her eyes, looking around.
Lou Tingsi leaned down gently. “Awake?”
Still half-asleep, she slid off Lou Tingsi, her legs a bit unsteady. “When did we land?”
“Just now,” Lou Tingsi said, draping the blanket over her. “You just woke up. Don’t catch a cold. Let’s get in the car.”
Qiao Chuchu yawned, still dazed, as she looked at the four people in front of her.
A tall woman with a classic Western figure—curvy hips and thick thighs—was glaring at her coldly.
A broad-shouldered, dark-skinned man was eyeing her up and down with a smirk.
An elderly man in a traditional Chinese suit gave her a kind nod.
And… a bespectacled man who looked rather handsome was smiling at her.
Qiao Chuchu became a bit more alert, her gaze lingering on the bespectacled man.
[This man… I feel like I’ve seen him somewhere before, but I can’t remember where.]
[Is one of these four the traitor? They all seem pretty decent.]
Qiao Chuchu noticed the woman who had been glaring at her.
The woman crossed her arms, scrutinizing her, and let out what sounded like a disdainful snort before rolling her eyes openly.
Qiao Chuchu: “…”
[I don’t know if the other three men are traitors, but I’m pretty sure this woman isn’t. She clearly has feelings for Lou Tingsi and sees me as a rival.]
[But did Lou Tingsi just carry me out?]
Qiao Chuchu finally realized: [Oh no! Did he try to wake me up and I didn’t budge? Did I sleep like a log again? That’s so embarrassing!]
She glanced at the woman.
[Does she think I’m the type to burp milk, fart milk, and cry for hugs?]
[Ah! My reputation is ruined! This is so humiliating!]
Lou Tingsi: “…”
What do you think?
