Chapter 1022: Zon's World
Chapter 1022: Zon's World
As each person was being selected and the memories, the feelings and more were being transferred to those around them, there was a brief moment between each selection. Each time, Raze would quickly look at the ground and with his finger draw something in the air.
His lips were moving at a fast speed as he went through things in his head. Breaking down the spells in his head.
'This isn't as complicated as I thought. The spells are fairly simple that are being used. The magic formations are just blocks built up on top of blocks. The reason it's able to work so well is due to the large amount of crystals that are being used.' Raze thought.
Maybe a large amount of magic wouldn't be needed to break the spell. Just a large amount of knowledge, and mana control, which was both what Raze had.
However, having gone through so many people, there were only a few left making the chances it would land on him higher. That's when it finally landed on Zon.
It would be a lie if Raze and Lince both said they weren't interested to see what were in these people's minds. Because they were those that weren't from their world, so just what were they even doing here.
Maybe they wouldn't get that answer to the question, but seeing their darkest memories, or moments, it might be an opening to learning their motives.
"Come on, let's see what I already know." Red said with his arms crossed and a smile on his face.
The memories flooded into their minds, as if they were actually there. The smell in the air was different to what they knew. The area around them was mostly metallic with machinery, even small robots walking around left and right.
What was the strangest thing for them was the age, the visions started with Zon while he was young. He was just a child in some type of camp, and in that camp there were many standing along with him by his side, including a red-haired boy that looked somewhat familiar to them all.
The visions skipped a few moments but it was quite clear what the children had gone through. They were being experimented on, parts of their limbs ripped off, other parts skinned and
more.
At the same time they were receiving strict training, and Zon had witnessed many of those around him having lost their lives. It was no wonder this was one of his darkest moments. Soon though it moved forward and the scene was constantly changing.
Zon and those children had grown up, they were now wearing the black suits that they wear now. They were running across metallic buildings and when turning left and right they could see giant machinery firing energy blasts at each other.
Lasers were going across the sky as two sides constantly fought each other. It was quite clear they were in the middle of a war. Zon and his group had eventually managed to rally behind, and attacked quickly and swiftly killing those that didn't even seem to be a part of the war or on the front line.
The scenes, they were quite similar to what they had seen from Lince's memory, just from another planet.
The only thing was Zon's memories seemed to go even deeper. Times where he and his group had fought off large amounts of those that looked somewhat similar but not quite the same. They had infiltrated what was a large house.
Killed their target and there were more people cowering in the corner, a mother, holding onto their dear child.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
"What should we do sir?" One of the Red Faction members asked.
"The mission is quite clear, that everyone in the house is to be eliminated, the task must be complete." Zon ordered.
The man who looked over at the corner lifted his hand, energy was starting to gather in his palm, but he winced.
"I'll do it, if it's so hard for you." A voice said, and a man with red hair shot beams killing the family.
It was quite telling that one of Zon's darkest moments had involved another that was in the room. Finally the memories had ended there, and everyone had returned back.
Everyone was deep in thought, it was quite clear that Zon was part of a special task force in a war of sorts, and during times of wars there were those that needed to do the dirty work, and Zon was the captain.
However, there was one telling thing, and that was the fact that his darkest moments were quite clearly all the actions that he had to make that he had regretted. Even including one of the scenes as he witnessed the battlefield.
Although he had done bad things, it was hard for them to see Zon as a bad person and those from Pagna understood that more than anything.
"Well, I already knew all of that anyway. So come on, might as well do me next." Red claimed. As the head spun between Raze and Red, it eventually landed on Red, and soon they were all in his thoughts as well.
The visions they saw were almost identical to that of Zon's starting from childhood. However, there was a difference, as they could see Red being tasked with solo missions at times. Doing killings on his own.
And it wasn't just once where he had volunteered to kill if the others wouldn't do it, he had done it many times over and over. Eventually though, the memory had led to a large base of sorts.
Inside Red was in what looked like a lab, a large test tube with a single individual, a man that had tubes connected to his head as his eyes were open.
"The All-Knowing." Red said. "So you are the one that has been giving us orders this entire time, telling us everything that we have to do in order to win this war and for peace, right?"
"That I am," the All-Knowing stated.
Red immediately lifted up his hands, and then large cannon-like red beams shot out, and went right through the All-Knowing's head, it destroyed it on the spot, and the machinery all around it started to shut down.
That was where Red's vision ended.
"I knew it, I knew you were the one that killed the All-Knowing!" Zon shouted. "I... should have listened to it. It gave me a task, it told me to take you out, but I refused to take out one of my own, and this was the end result... it's because of me the All-Knowing is gone, and our world is at a loss... so I have to make up for my mistake and take you down."
Red just chuckled at the sight of Zon, as it seemed more important matters were at hand. The visual specter in the air now only had one person to look at, and it had landed on Raze.
