From one shadow to the next, she advanced, daggers flashing in quick, precise arcs that seemed to come from all directions.

Alex gripped his short sword tighter, eyes sharp and alert as he followed her elusive movements. Each time she appeared, he twisted or parried, deflecting her relentless assaults. But her agility kept him constantly on the defensive; she was everywhere at once, and her attacks were a whirlwind of controlled precision.

With a thrill of exhilaration, Alex began to anticipate her moves, using his own fire element to light up brief areas, momentarily dispelling the shadows and forcing her to reveal herself. He laughed, both impressed and challenged, as he adjusted his stance to accommodate her darting strikes.
