D.E.M.O.N.S: Getting Summoned Weekly isn't so Bad

Kat spent a bit more time building up Kamiko's confidence, assisted by Lily being adorable of course. Eventually, Kat felt like it was time to move on a bit. Not completely… but enough for the conversation to 'settle' in Kamiko's mind. Make it a bit more than a temporary boost. So instead Kat asked, "Now that things aren't quite so worried filled… what do you think of everyone here?

Kamiko adopted an exaggerated thinker pose, while ensuring Lily was comfortable on her lap of course. Kamiko held the pose for a few moments until Kat started to giggle before releasing it. "Well, I've noticed a few things. I guess you have to start with Corela… and yeah without being too down about things she's overworking herself massively.

It might be necessary, I'm not saying she's making a mistake… but she's putting a lot on her shoulders and maybe she'll crack a bit?"

"Are you insinuating you want me to help put her to sleep at some point?" asked Kat.

Kamiko thought on it for a couple of seconds before nodding, "I wasn't originally but now that you've said it. Yes. Before the end of the day I think we should give her a chance to rest. Might need to keep Meg distracted somehow to ensure she actually sleeps… but I think she needs it. Brella will probably help but she's… a touch hopeless honestly…"

"Why is that?" asked Kat despite knowing the answer from Kamiko's earlier ramblings.

"Because she's a bit too into her own pity party. She's upset she wasn't a proper parent to any of the kids… when she's not actually a parent to any of the kids. Which, maybe isn't an excuse. She's the closest thing they have to a proper mother from the sounds of things. I mean, I still haven't even SEEN the other adults. Which just… is so not good on multiple levels.

You'd think with Brella missing one of them might have noticed. I am quite certain not involving them in the talks is a good thing at this point though," explained Kamiko.

Kat sighed,* I really hope this isn't back to 'let's try and fix everyone' because I was really trying to get off this train of thought. Alas, if talking about this sort of thing and trying to help is what makes Kamiko happy I'm not going to stop her. Maybe magical therapy is going to be her chosen career path as opposed to her mother's body focused approach.* "Yeah it does seem that way.

Though… what exactly can be done about it?"

"Not sure…" shrugged Kamiko. "Like… yeah she's not wrong, but she's just moping about it instead of actually trying to fix things. Admittedly that's from her idea that she might make things worse… and maybe she will but I think she should at least TRY,"

Kat just gave Kamiko a raised eyebrow and held it there for a while. Kamiko blushed and looked away. "Right well… understood. I'll consider it. Um… next… next I guess we'll go for Church and Brook? They're together now!

Or well they've always been together from your perspective I guess? It happened before you arrived,"

Kat gave Kamiko a slight pat on the head. Apparently that little bit of not-quite-intimidation was enough to fluster her. Kamiko blushed again, trying not to be embarrassed about needing to be calmed. Again. At least Kat was nicer about it then her sisters. "So… um… anyway Church is a lot of a slob but it seems like that's just because she thinks it doesn't matter?

And she's… mostly right? It's weird because now that it's been confirmed those two are leaving, mostly for food and adventure… she's been working with the workout guys to try and see how best to get in shape.

"Which has been interesting to listen to. It's not really something to worry about much as a demon, especially not once we have our demonic fire up and running but for a mortal it's super complex. Apparently there would be issues with her like… working all that fat off at once? I can't say I understand it. Oh and Brook is actually pretty buff!"

"Really?" asked Kat.

"Yup. Apparently he's been working out a bit. Originally as a way to help with his confidence in asking Church out but… well his exercise routine was a lot more successful then his strange yet romantic attempts to ask her out," explained Kamiko.

"Do you think they'll regret leaving?" asked Kat.

Kamiko rubbed the bottom of her chin for a few moments, "I'm going to say… maybe? They have a purity about them that the workout crew also does but not quite in the manner they may need? The workout crew, maybe minus Pip though she has a THING for magic now. Not sure how long it will last…

"Anyway, Brook and Church. They have… they have surety of purpose for the moment and I think they're relationship will carry them far… but they'll also be tested. I think the ideal thing for them both to do would be to move a long way away, maybe find some masks or items to disguise the fact they don't look like anyone else… and just blend in. I think that would make them both happiest.

"Whereas the workout crew are HAPPY to challenge the world. I can see them storming out of here. Which is definitely going to cause issues… but issues that they are… maybe not equipped to deal with but ones they can happily learn to tackle. Probably," Kamiko finished with much less confidence then she started.

"Probably?" asked Kat with a grin.

"Well… Chen and Shen are… hard to tell apart. I'm still not sure how the others do, or even they even try. They feel like Pip's big sisters for the most part and follow Malt around because… he feels almost like the dad of the group for some weird reason? Even still they all have this… DRIVE I guess.

"Unlike the others who now have a bit of a fire lit underneath them because of the time crunch and the whole new world thing… those three have always been building themselves up. Pip makes an interesting fourth because she's quite mature and yet a bit of a dreamer. Not quite the same as them but more alike then the rest of the groups I suppose.

"I don't know if they'll stay together. They might break away and eventually find their own adventures but the workout crew I… I trust to find their own path. To not regret the steps necessary to move forward. They are good people that want to become strong and I think that can carry them a massive way. I just… I think the main worry will be how many of them can properly use magic.

If the answer is 'all of them' then it gets easier. They'll stick around easy areas and train up magic with Pip. If it's not… I think that will be the first true test,"

*Doesn't really tell me what you think of them all that much. More what you think they'll do… but fine whatever. I guess we can just treat this as an acceptable answer. I'm doing this for Kamiko's confidence after all. Even if this conversation is VERY similar to the one we had before her breakdown.* "What about the garden group then?" asked Kat.

"Oh, well that's made up of Stephy, Fonze, Grelk and Strek… though Grelk sort of moves between them and the group with Ben in it?" Kat chuckled at 'the group with Ben in it' being such an accurate description. "And Grelk and Strek sort of blend together a bit? Honestly I'm not sure I've seen Grelk recently…" mumbled Kamiko

"He was with them when I got questioned earlier," said Kat.

"Good for him then I guess? Maybe he was sick or hiding away… or I dunno something. Anyway I'm not sure how into the gardening group he is. I was under the impression he was a core part of it… but maybe not? Anyway, Fonze Sephy and Strek. Strek is… super mellow and I think he can be happy doing whatever.

Not sure where he'd be the happiest, but I think he'll manage it.

"Sephy… is sort of like a discount Sue? Which is super mean to say but she… she lacks a certain refinement Sue has? Like… like she can say the words and give them shock value but she… she lacks the presence I guess? When Sue makes those jokes you know at least some of them are backed up by… um… practical experience I suppose is the way I'm going to have to put it?

Sephy is like… it's like she found a gimmick that kept people laughing, enjoy it herself… but doesn't understand it maybe?

"Leaving feels like a way for her to grow a bit in more ways then one. Stretch her wings a bit? She's not good at arguing but I think she's going to leave regardless of what else happens… and Fonze. Fonze doesn't want things to change. He's happy, content, and he fears the rocking of the boat.

I think however… that if Strek realises just how serious Sephy is… they might leave in the end," Kamiko trailed off with a sigh.
