Earth's Greatest Magus

Chapter 2408 Fear

Chapter 2408  Fear

"Annoying little ant... you are next!!" The Red Demon's voice cut through the air like a razor, his presence overwhelming. Emery, despite his formidable powers, felt the weight of the Red Demon's gaze like a thousand tons pressing down on him. The aura that radiated from Agis, even more potent than the Ouroboros Queen or any three-cosmos Grand Magus he had encountered, felt suffocating. The sheer intensity of it made Emery feel insignificant, like a mere insect beneath the claws of a predator.

Emery stood, cloaked in his Twilight transformation, his body reinforced by the Elysian armor, but even this did little to shield him from the crushing pressure of the Red Demon's aura. n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

With a flash of malicious intent, Agis raised his spear, a fiery glow emanating from the tip. His movements were deliberate, and he charged forward without hesitation.

Emery's mind raced, and despite his resolve, his body remained still, paralyzed by the overwhelming power before him. His feet felt as though they were rooted to the ground, unable to move. His mental defenses, typically sharp and ever-ready, faltered under the weight of Agis's crushing presence.

With a flicker of desperation, Emery called out to the power of Khaos, in hopes that it could lend him the strength to resist the Red Demon's onslaught. In that split second, he cast his most potent defense.

[Aegis of Void]

A shimmering barrier of swirling darkness materialized, its edges pulsating with chaotic energy. But as the Red Demon's spear met the void-like shield, sparks flew, and the barrier shattered instantly, like glass beneath a hammer. The force sent shockwaves through the ground, tearing apart the desert beneath their feet.

With no time to react, Emery relied on his final line of defense. He raised his [Elysian Vambrace], channeling the highest level of [immortal gate] into his arm to block.

BOOM!!!

The collision was cataclysmic. A shockwave exploded outward, flattening the terrain and scattering debris into the air. Emery gritted his teeth, the [Elysian Vambrace] had absorbed the brunt of the Red Demon's strike, but the sheer force of the impact was overwhelming.

Emery's Elysian armor—shattered under the assault. Blood spilled from his mouth as he coughed violently, his body trembling from the immense shock as he was thrown a dozen meters away.

The Red Demon's eyes gleamed with interest as he watched Emery struggle to rise. "Ha! You're the first Magus to withstand my attack" he said, his voice laced with amusement and just a hint of grudging respect.

Major Kouga and Grand Magus Archie immediately surged forward, their intent clear as they moved to defend Emery. However, the Elder Crimson Dragon intercepted them, its massive frame and ferocious attacks halting their advance. Its tail lashed out, forcing them back, while its fiery breath kept them at bay.

Grand Magus Dopa was healing his arm, while Princess Miriel, standing a few meters away, was frozen in terror. She was just as terrified as Emery.

Emery was on his own.

Surprisingly, the Red Demon didn't finish him off right away. He took slow, deliberate steps toward Emery, his eyes narrowing with cold curiosity. "There is something familiar about you… Who are you?"

Emery's body trembled, once again blood pouring from his mouth as the Red Demon's immense pressure bore down on him. His limbs were heavy, and the pain was unbearable.

The thought of calling out to his allies crossed his mind briefly, but the idea was quickly dismissed. Livi and Twik, if they came to his aid, would only be slaughtered in seconds. There was no way they would survive the Red Demon's wrath.

Desperation surged within him. His only chance was to awaken the beast within. But the Red Demon's mental pressure, suffocating and unrelenting, kept him locked in place. "Wake… up… Wake up..." Emery whispered through gritted teeth, his words barely more than a strained breath. He channeled every ounce of Khaos energy he had, willing it to reach deep into the recesses of his soul where the beast resided.

The Red Demon, just steps away from him now, sneered down with contempt. "If you don't want to answer… then just die," he spat, his voice cold and final.

From afar, Princess Miriel's voice pierced the air, sharp and panicked. "Run!!"

The situation was critical.

It had been a long time since Emery had felt fear like this. The Red Demon's overwhelming presence stirred memories from two decades ago—reminders of his younger, weaker, and more pathetic self.

The helplessness of those years, when he could do nothing but flee from danger. The time when he could only run from danger came rushing back to him.

The princess' words unearthed a specific memory he had long buried—the moment he fled, leaving his father to face death alone.

His father's final words echoed in his mind: "Grow up and be strong!"

The vivid flashback ignited something deep within Emery. A surge of spirit force coursed through him, the fire of determination blazing brighter than ever.

"I AM NOT THAT KID ANYMORE!!!"

[Your Bloodline has undergone changes]

[Battle power has increased exponentially]

It seemed that his determination to break through past trauma allowed him to stir his bloodline. Although the increase in battle power wouldn't help much in his situation, it still gave him the strength to stand up—and, most importantly, it awakened the beast within.

[Primal Transformation]

The moment was electric. His body expanded, muscles bulging and sinews tightening as primal energy coursed through him. Intricate patterns glow faintly as if carved by the very essence of Khaos. The Red Demon's spear had pierced through his body, blood dripping from the wound. Yet, Emery didn't falter. Instead, his transformation seemed to accelerate, fueled by the pain. As the demon attempted to pull his weapon free, the spear refused to budge. Emery's flesh seemed to grip it like an iron vice, the wound sealing itself around the blade.

Still calm despite the sudden shift, the Red Demon muttered with a hint of curiosity, "What is this? What kind of half-blood are you?"

As Emery's battle power continued to surge, the air around him crackled with a force that seemed almost unnatural and the Red Demon made his move. He yanked his spear free, intent on engulfing Emery in a searing inferno of flames.

But, Emery launched his counterattack. With a roar, his massive arms slammed into the Red Demon with devastating force. The blow pushed the formidable enemy back, skidding across the ground, his previously unshakable stance disrupted.

It wasn't just the Red Demon who was shocked. All the Grand Magus on the battlefield paused, their eyes widening in disbelief as they witnessed Emery's transformation.
