Emperor's Domination

Chapter 6213: Ye Sha

Chapter 6213: Ye Sha

They came across a cemetery before they knew it.

“Whose cemetery is this?” The group was surprised to see the well-kept state of this cemetery.

“Our ancestral cemetery...” Li Xian answered.

“Your clan.” The group looked up and saw no end in sight.

Each memorial tablet was ancient and beaten by time. It must have been built a long time ago; its sheer scale was magnificent.

“Your clan was this large?” Orchidcore and the others regained their wits.

“This is actually the main cemetery, there is a larger branch one. Our ancestral rule is that only those with accomplishments are allowed to be buried here. Ordinary descendants are buried in the branch one. It’s just that after several wars, the branch one was destroyed.” Li Xian smiled wryly.

“It’s gigantic.” Orchidcore was moved by this scene.

As one of the main successors of the Mu, he had a good understanding of dao lineages. A main cemetery like this indicated a certain level of prestige and prosperity.

“Auspicious Emperor, Cloudsoar Grand Sovereign, Peerless Godmonarch, Nine-hand Everlasting...” Princess Chen read the tablets and saw the titles.

“You’re a member of the Li!” She and Orchidcore realized Li Xian’s true origin.

“The Li. Amitabha, amitabha, the home of Xuansu.” Monk Zhu placed his palms together.

“I apologize for not showing you the proper respect, Brother.” Orchidcore bowed.

Despite Li Xian’s shallow cultivation, his clan was truly prestigious once. It was far stronger than the Mu during its peak. Of course, true strength during the previous eras was impossible to gauge.

“My apologies.” Princess Chen did the same.

“The heroic clan.” Mu Hu laughed and said: “You all were the staunchest supporters of the lord and Desolate Ancestor, participating in several great wars.”

Li Xian became embarrassed and said: “Yet its descendants are unfilial and unworthy.”

Tales of the Li made blood boil. However, Li Xian understood that this glory belonged to his ancestors, not him.

Meanwhile, Black Witch Monarch’s paper crane was flying around the cemetery.

“Maybe you were right, the haunting event might be related to your ancestors.” Princess Chen said.

“It makes sense to me since no one is getting hurt.” Li Xian said.

The group exchanged glances and agreed because the yin tornado only nullified their techniques and didn’t kill them.

“But ghosts don’t exist.” Orchidcore’s belief wavered.

“Our ancestors believe this.” Princess Chen said. Her ancestors were as strong as could be so if they denied the existence of ghosts, so would she.

“Amitabha.” Monk Zhu used his heavenly gaze to scan the cemetery. Eventually, he shook his head and said: “No sign of evil energy or malice. They are graves to not be disturbed.”

“Then what is that thing?” The group became frustrated.

“As I’ve said, a secret.” Black Witch Monarch laughed.

“If there is one, we wouldn’t be in this state right now.” Li Xian shook his head.

The others had no response to his honesty since it was a rather sensitive topic.

As the crane led them forward, they made it through the cemetery and stopped in a place filled with fog and mist.

“What is this place?” The young geniuses stopped and asked Li Xian.

“I was told this is a pathway to Old Ruin or another burial ground built by our ancestors. The details elude me.” Li Xian shrugged.

“You haven’t entered?” Princess Chen became curious.

“The seniors tried but it is a labyrinth that always takes visitors back to the initial point. Our ancestors most likely didn’t want us to come, hence the bewitching spell.” Li Xian elaborated.

“Aren’t we in Old Ruin already?” Orchidcore’s brows furrowed.

“Not quite, we’re still outside where it’s safe. There are unhealed places with void storms deeper in there.” Li Xian said.

“Right, the main battlefields are still perilous.” Monk Zhu said.

“More than that.” Black Witch Monarch said with a smile: “Could be ghosts there, rumor has it Ye Sha is still there.”

“Ye Sha.” The listeners became alarmed.

“Ye Sha is the lord of Old Ruin, right?” Princess Chen said.

“It’s an old legend, don’t think it’s true. My seniors told me that Ye Sha might not be real, could just be a manifestation of the void storms.” Li Xian shook his head.

“No, Ye Sha is real. An emperor from our clan met his demise because of Ye Sha.” Orchidcore shook his head.

“I see.” Li Xian was surprised to hear this.

“Ye Sha had left Old Ruin before but somehow returned.” Orchidcore said confidently.

“Yes, forced back due to the top cultivators under Lord of Life and Death.” The monarch elaborated.

“So could Ye Sha be the one causing trouble?” Princess Chen speculated.
