Chapter 636: Chapter 636 Really Fragrant_1

Rain began to fall at night, a light pitter-patter, accompanied occasionally by a soft breeze that would send the droplets drifting in and dampening the ground before the window.

Purple Summers couldn’t sleep and stood by the window, watching the newly planted rose bushes in the courtyard.

The dark green leaves and branches were dripping wet, and the delicate pink buds swayed precariously in the wind and rain. Some had already been knocked to the ground by the rain, their petals scattered on the floor in a beautiful, pitiful display.

Purple Summers was a bit worried whether the two clusters of transplanted roses would survive.

As she pondered, she suddenly saw a figure walking slowly with an umbrella in the night.

Human instinct is a strange thing that often defies explanation with words.

Just like now, although a pitch-black umbrella obscured the view, Purple Summers felt certain that the person was Alexander Summers.

As if connected by a sixth sense, the person on the other end sensed Purple Summers’s gaze, tilted the umbrella slightly, and looked up.

Underneath the umbrella, Alexander Summers smiled at her, and through the thin veil of rain, his deep and alluring eyes held no trace of his usual impishness—only tenderness and love.

Purple Summers stared at him, heart pounding out of sync in an instant.

Alexander Summers made his way to the window and closed the umbrella, tossing it aside nonchalantly, then effortlessly climbed the few meters up to the balcony of the second-floor window, as easy as if he were ascending a staircase.

Purple Summers stood inside, while Alexander Summers stood outside the window.

She was somewhat stunned, feeling as if this scene was something out of a dream.

The rain slid down his face, and also wet his hair. His dense black hair fell over his forehead in disarray, his eyes slightly narrowed—rakishly handsome and utterly captivating.

Purple Summers felt her heart flutter uncontrollably, and almost as if possessed, she leaned forward to kiss him.

Her soft lips met his firmly, the coolness of the rain carrying with it an unspoken silence that, like a clap of thunder, exploded in Alexander Summers’s mind.

He didn’t dare move.

His hands clenched the window sill tightly, his entire being as if plunged into a field of flowers, intoxicated with the sweet aroma, drowning in its embrace.

The persistent, gentle rain continued to fall, yet neither sought shelter, instead lost in a poignant silence.

“You’re seducing me.” Afterward, Alexander Summers cradled her face, smiling, “Do you know the consequences of seducing me?”

Purple Summers avoided his gaze, feeling uncomfortable, her voice a hum, “Why did you climb up the window? It’s not like there’s no door… ”

“You were standing by the window, I thought you were inviting me in,” Alexander said, gripping her hand tightly and pressing it to his lips, “Silly girl, get inside before you catch a cold.”

Purple Summers stepped back awkwardly, reached out, and realized that the top half of her nightgown was quite wet, as was her hair, half-damp.

She took out a clean one from the wardrobe.

Alexander was faster, quickly shedding his wet clothing and then scooping her up to lie down together on the bed.

Purple Summers wondered if he was planning to teach her the consequences of “seduction”.

However, to her mild surprise, Alexander, who was usually indulgent, behaved like a gentleman today. His warm hand rested on her soft belly, radiating warmth, comforting her against the chill.

The rain had cooled the air significantly. Even wrapped up together in sleep, they wouldn’t become sweat-drenched—it was perfect.

That’s what Purple Summers thought as she closed her eyes.

The rainy night was serene, with a light breeze, and the cool air carried the familiar scent of roses.

“Alexander Summers,” Purple Summers called softly.

“Hmm?”

Alexander’s breath tickled her ear, sending tingles through her.

“Do you smell the roses?” Purple Summers asked him, “It’s very faint, can you smell it?”

Alexander chuckled lowly, his breath close to her neck, her shoulder, her thick, long hair, “I smell it, it’s fragrant!”n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

Purple Summers felt a slight itch in her heart, yet it was oddly comforting.

So it wasn’t my imagination, there really is the scent of roses…
