"Indeed, what you saw outside was an illusion array that misguides people into getting lost in the forest and sending them back outside," Noah explained as the two of them continued to walk forward.

"Why send them back when they want to kidnap the people?"

"Did you see any high-level threats or treasures in the forest that were worth the attention of any powerful forces?" Noah simply asked back, answering her question with another question.

Upon thinking back, Ruo'er realized that the forest was too ordinary even for the standards of the people from the Tian Ren Empire.

"This place, unlike their small holds, is a big base. There should be only a few of these in the kingdom, and losing it would be a problem." Noah's eyes stopped on the tallest volcano, "Let's complete our goal first and talk later."

Placing his hand on Ruo'er's shoulder, Noah vanished from the spot along with her.

"Hmm?" Li Rong opened her eyes once more and looked at her surroundings with a frown on her face.

"Something is definitely wrong." She muttered, "The qi in the air is slowly starting to move away from me."

Standing up from the flat surface she was seated on, Li Rong walked out of the small cave she was meditating inside.

Appearing in the same place where she 'killed' the person she once called friend, Li Rong looked around with seriousness.

"The Qi from the elemental stones is just floating above the lava? Did something happen here?" Several questions appeared in her mind.

While she continued to investigate the source of the change in the qi of the air, deep below the surface of the calm lava, a boy could be seen seated on the ground in a meditating position.

His clothes had been burned by the hotness of the lava, and yet his skin was shinier than ever.

There was a small rhythm of energy around his body which seemed to fluctuate from time to time.

"There is nothing out of the ordinary here, then it leaves me with two possibilities..." Li Rong looked back at the surface of the lava, "It's either a very freakish natural phenomenon or something happened down there."

She expanded her Qi sense and sent it down below the surface. Penetrating the lava, her senses moved at a very fast speed.

Unknown to him that his whereabouts were about to be exposed, Yuan Ming kept on increasing his cultivation. His eyes were deeply closed, and his attention was fully focused on keeping the flow of the Qi inside his body steady.

Noah appeared in the air above the volcano that was being guarded by low-level guards from the Red Dawn Cult.

They looked around without any idea that someone was floating right over their heads.

"So how are we getting inside?" Ruo'er asked while floating in the air with Noah's hand holding her collar.

She would have complained if her attention had not been caught by the grandeur of the guards roaming around the volcano like a swarm of ants.

"Don't you see the big hole in the middle?" Noah pointed at the opening of the volcano and grinned.

Before Ruo'er could even see his grinning face, Noah dived down. His figure tore through the sky. Just before he was about to reach the volcano, he and Ruo'er disappeared without a trace.

He reappeared on one of the floors of the volcano. Since someone managed to sneak around the place before, the guards tightened the security and patrolled each and every floor at designated intervals.

When Ruo'er came to her senses, she froze and instinctively placed her hand on her lips.

Just an inch away from her was the face of another woman. Their lips were about to touch. After calming down, she noticed something.

Even though the guard was looking straight at her, she could feel that the woman's gaze was facing something in the distance.

Taking a breath, she backed away created some distance between the two of them, and placed her hand on her sword to kill the woman.

Just as she was about to pull her sword, a hand stopped her, pushing the sword back into its sheath.

She turned and saw Noah shaking his head before taking his hand back. He walked past the woman, leaving Ruo'er in her spot.

She looked at the enemy in front of her and gritted her teeth before walking behind him as well.

"Why?"

"Remember our priorities; each moment we waste here could be fateful for them." Hearing his words, she nodded in acceptance.

Even though she was sometimes rash and brute with her approach, Ruo'er knew how to keep her head calm on the battlefield.

"This is it." Noah suddenly stopped in front of a cave and turned to face it. Ruo'er moved as Noah walked inside the cave.

Li Rong's forehead started to sweat as her qi sense moved closer and closer to the depths of the lava.

She could sense some kind of fluctuations in the air, but she waved it off as the fluctuations from the qi in the lava.

But as she moved lower and lower, it started to get more and more intense, which made her reconsider the initial guess she had.

'Is it some kind of heavenly treasure?' she thought before her eyes flared with a sense of possessiveness, "just a little more!"
