Chapter 146 Jane Or Calista.
Kyle hopped from one house to another like a call boy, but he didn't mind because it was a great way to pass the time.
Kyle understood that he would soon not have this much time on his hands so it was best to feed them as much attention as he could for the time being.
Calista sat him on the couch but Kyle could smell the sweat off her delicate skin.
"Take off your shirt," Calista instructed him in a soft voice and Kyle had no reason to object.
He took off his shirt and Calista's eyes were focused on the wound on his torso.
"Does it hurt?" Calista questioned.
"No, not anymore," Kyle responded, feeling her cold fingers run along the edges.
"Are you sure?" Calista asked once again. She knew that the wound might be healing, but it hadn't yet.
There was no way that it wouldn't sting but Kyle was maintaining a brave face.
"You're safe now…" Calista whispered before mounting him.
Kyle could tell she was being gentle for his sake, a gesture he appreciated because it showed she could think about people other than herself.
"I am?" Kyle questioned and all Calista did was bury his head in her chest.
"You don't need to say anything if you don't want to," Calista reassured him.
Kyle initially thought she was trying to initiate sex but found out she wanted to comfort him.
She knew that it mustn't have been easy and Kyle wrapped his arms around her lower waist, dragging her even closer.
"Thank you, Calista," Kyle showed his appreciation without realizing, he had established a deeper emotional connection with Calista or would it be safe to say that this was one-sided?
She wanted to remind him that she could play roles that his potential 'partners' couldn't.
- Your adventure continues at empire
Jane was restless, she didn't know what to do with her time but something told her to snoop around his house even though she knew it wasn't a good thing to do.
It was one of those intrusive thoughts that sat in her mind.
"I wonder why he left me here, does he trust me that much? What if he asks me to move in with him?" Jane thought about this possibility and her cheeks flushed red.
"Hyaaa~"
Jane couldn't contain her excitement but if Kyle asked her, she wondered if she would say yes.
She liked Ella's company a lot but this was Kyle.
Not only was she in love with him but he was the man she wished to build her future with.
Jane knew that Ella would understand if she did decide to move out but she wouldn't be able to watch over her anymore.
That was something that she wasn't comfortable with because Jane didn't trust Ella to take care of herself.
Or rather, she needed to believe that Ella felt useful to her friend.
Kyle helped Ella find a purpose in life, the closer she got to her ambition the greater the potential fall.
Jane knew she had to be there should something like this happen because the industry was a brutal one.
Be it cyberbullying or the rapid increase in suicide rates and with Ella being a former addict, there was no telling how far she would fall.
Jane began to look around and realized that Kyle didn't have much in his apartment but that was to be expected.
He was a bachelor and this place could use a woman's touch.
Jane thought that Ella not attending her parents' funeral would impact her negatively but she didn't look to be affected by it.
Jane was still feeling faint pains between her legs but she thought it would hurt a lot more.
It was because Kyle was not only gentle but he made sure she was wet enough to receive him.
Jane went to the bathroom and saw that he had little to no hair products, how did he manage to look so good if he didn't even have the products to maintain it?
Jane sighed but she found it strange that he didn't have a single picture of himself in the house.
"I wonder what he does all day here?" Jane thought but her question was answered with a single glance at the gaming console.
"Well, that explains it," Jane thought to herself. She began to clean and tidy his house, she wasn't comfortable staying there and doing absolutely nothing.
This included sweeping and mopping the ground with a broad smile on her face.
This was what one would call an act of service and Jane found joy in doing this.
However, she soon discovered something she wished she hadn't and that was a piece of eyelash beneath his bed.
She didn't know how it got there or how long it had been there but it belonged to a woman, that much she was certain.
Jane recoiled at the sight of it, her heart sinking in the process because, for the first time, she entertained the thought of Kyle seeing other women.
But knowing she was prone to overthinking, she took a picture of it and shot Ella a message with the image attached to it.
It didn't even take up to a minute for Ella to call her because she had no idea what she was looking at. The moment Jane picked up, Ella began the conversation with an exhausted sigh.
[[What now?]]
"This is an eyelash or do I need to change my glasses?" Jane questioned, she wanted Ella to confirm what she suspected.
[[They do look like eyelashes but didn't you both just become a thing?]] Ella questioned.
She wanted Jane to understand that just because she wasn't seeing anyone when talking to him didn't mean Kyle was doing the same.
This was a common practice as there was nothing wrong with this if Kyle did indeed link with other women when he was speaking to Jane.
However, the lashes looked old so there was no telling when it was and this was why Ella chose the safer approach to help control her friend's overthinking.
[[That could have been before you even met.]] Ella presented that possibility
"I didn't even consider that…" Jane confessed as a loud silence soon followed.
[[You mean you called to complain about lashes without considering it could have been before you even entered his life?]] Ella didn't know what else to say.
"Well, technically, you're the one that called me," Jane said but a beeping sounded.
"Hello? She hung up? I deserve that," Jane muttered to herself with an embarrassed smile.
