Chapter 597: Chapter 597 - One Guild, Many Voices
Broken's voice softened as he asked, "Would you be willing to join me in this new guild?" Elincia rose from her seat, a gentle smile on her face.
"Broken, I admire your honesty... and the courage it takes to invite us all to join your guild. I can see the confidence you have in what you're building."
She paused, then continued, "In fact, we've already discussed this among ourselves. While some have their doubts, I think everyone here has questions they'd like answered before making a final decision."
Broken nodded in appreciation. "Thank you, Elincia."
Elincia glanced around the room. "Well, it's getting late, and the party will start soon."
Everyone in the guild seemed to have questions-things Broken would need to address thoughtfully, as each answer could impact their decision. Broken was actually excited to hear from each of them, curious about their thoughts and concerns.
"I'm sure we can start with you, Melliandra," Elincia suggested with a slight smile.
Melliandra groaned. "Why should I be the first to speak?! This is so annoying!"
She turned to Broken. "Hey, pervert. I need a new sniper rifle. Are you planning to get the Gunsmith Class anytime soon so you can help me with that?"
Broken paused before responding, "I haven't decided yet, Melliandra. I'm not sure of the class's full potential, so I can't make any promises, but I'm not ruling it out either."
Melliandra sighed, rolling her eyes. "Tsk. So annoying." She looked away, "I don't care who the guild master is as long as Elincia's there. I'm okay. Enough from me, next."
Next, Kingsley turned to Broken, giving him a steady look.
"Broken, I've been on a few expeditions and battles with you, and I know you've got a lot of courage and determination. So, if no one else objects, I'm willing to go along with it. I'm sure that adventuring with you will be something special, and I enjoy those moments."
"Thanks, Kingsley. I really appreciate that," Broken replied sincerely.
Livelywood then took his turn, his young age belying the poise and confidence of a sword- fighting prodigy. He always maintained a positive attitude and gave his best for the team.
"Broken, I don't have any major concerns. But will you still prioritize crafting my sword?"
"I'll keep my promise, Livelywood."
"Very well, then. I'm content," Livelywood concluded with a nod.
Next up was Starfall, a skilled mage and famous celebrity in Korea, who was also Livelywood's teammate.
"I've been on a few expeditions with Broken, and I believe he's capable of making the right decisions in critical moments. I think he can lead the team successfully," she said with a thoughtful nod.
"But there is one condition," she added.
"Yes?" he asked.
"Come to my concert one day, will you?"
Broken smiled, nodding. "Absolutely. I'll come to Korea and be right there in the front row."
Starfall smiled back, satisfied. "Then I'm okay with it."
Next, it was Jovina's turn to speak. "Well, I think I was the first one to suggest this revolutionary idea, so no objections from me! I'm with you, Broken. As long as you keep stirring up trouble and giving me plenty of entertainment, I'm in! I thrive on confrontation, so I'm sure I can count on you for that."
Broken smiled. "Thanks, Jovina. But... trouble?"
"Yes! Like Maylock said, big trouble just seems drawn to you, it's part of your charm. Hahaha." She laughed, clearly enjoying the thought.
Goldrich was next to share his thoughts.
"So, young man, khi khi khi," he began with his signature chuckle, "this seems like the perfect time to ask, because I'm sure you won't dodge my question now. Tell me, what's your furthest goal at this moment? I don't care how unreasonable it sounds. I just want to know how far you can dream."
All eyes turned to Broken, who nodded slowly in acknowledgment. He took a deep breath and responded.
"I can't share all the details yet," he said, his voice steady, "but my goal is to take over a kingdom and become the first player to be crowned as king in this game."
"Wahahaha...!" Jovina burst into laughter. "That's exactly the answer I was hoping you'd say, Broken."
"Impressive... I'm satisfied with that answer, too," Goldrich replied with a nod.
"That's so unrealistic, you idiot!" Melliandra exclaimed.
Elincia leaned forward with a smirk. "What about marrying a lot of women, Broken?" "I'm pretty sure it's not your turn to ask questions yet, Elincia." Broken said and smiled.
Broken gradually opened up to them, sharing things he had previously kept hidden. He realized that to build a strong guild, he needed to start trusting his teammates fully.
Next, it was Optimus's turn to speak. Although he was usually outspoken, Broken had never had the chance to really talk with him.
However, during the recent battle to defend Deadbay, Optimus had shown up piloting the Golem Blackthorn, making a huge contribution to their victory.
"So..." Optimus began, "I don't have any questions. I'm actually quite thrilled with this decision, so I'm on board."
He then glanced over at Trison. "Hey, buddy, what about you? Got anything to add?"
Trison, usually known for his excessive drinking, appeared unusually composed today. He nodded slowly, offering Broken a friendly smile.
"I can see you have ambition and big aspirations, Broken. Your enthusiasm is admirable, and I'd be happy to follow you."
"Thanks, Optimus, Trison," Broken replied gratefully.
"Phew..." Jovina chimed in with a grin. "I'm amazed to see this fool manage to stay sober today."
Next, it was Toberry's turn to speak. As an Alchemist and Maylock's partner on the team, he spoke up with enthusiasm.
"Broken, I'm thrilled to accept this offer. We both have production classes, though I'm sure you have plenty of unique traits that help you excel across the board... including winning the
hearts of women! Hahaha..."
"Thank you, Toberry," Broken replied.
Toberry added. "As for Maylock, I'm sure Elincia can better explain what he wants to convey."
Charmelyn was next to speak. As the guild's only assassin, she was known for her quiet demeanor, yet she completed missions with unwavering resolve. After a brief bow, she stood, appearing slightly hesitant.
Charmelyn hesitated for a moment, clearly a bit nervous, before finally speaking.
"Uhm... I don't have any concerns... nothing much to say, really. I fought alongside Broken in a major battle against a named demon, and I know he's an exceptional fighter," she said. "He even managed to defuse the tension between me and Marlene back then. Though he says he's not great at speaking to large groups, he's shown he can humble himself, listen, and find real solutions to the issues at hand. I support this decision."
She quickly sat back down, and Goldrich gave her an approving smile and nod.
"Thank you, Charmelyn," Broken said, smiling. "I look forward to another big battle with all
of us fighting side by side again."n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
Three people remained who had yet to speak: Skywarden, Elincia, and Maylock, for whom Elincia would later stand in. It was now Skywarden's turn, and he was known to be the most
resistant to Broken's ideas from the start.
Everyone understood that if even one person rejected this decision, the Ass Guild's integration into Broken's guild would face obstacles. The room grew tense as Skywarden fixed Broken with a firm, unyielding stare, clearly prepared to express everything on his mind.
