Chapter 607: Chapter 607: Parasite
After all, a casual player guild consists of players who don’t know each other. They grouped together to avoid suppression by large guilds.
Casual players did not have the same resources as formal player guilds. Although some powerful casual players had items like scrolls, who would be willing to use them under such circumstances?
It would be foolish to use a scroll without any rewards or benefits.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
Struggling against the Ogres was a challenge in itself for them, and now with the Ogres being corroded, their attributes increased significantly.
The casual players, especially their main tanks, were less equipped compared to those from the guilds. Under these attacks, they broke down completely.
“Damn it, I said we should clear the field before these scrubs got involved,” cursed a top player from a nearby casual guild.
“Stop talking, quickly gather MTs from guilds near these casual players for support. Output players nearby, focus your fire on these Ogres. If the line breaks, we’re all done for,” a guild leader said in a hurry.
“We can’t be the only ones to suffer,” someone from a guild nearby retorted.
“Fine, each guild assigns a hundred people to go.”
These guild leaders had long formed their own channel for communication and coordination.
The casual players were already being invaded by the Ogres, crying out as they were slain.
The crowd was in chaos. It was difficult for the MTs to resist the corroded Ogres, let alone these glass cannons. They were losing numbers with every skill used.
Support from other guilds finally arrived with the rise of white lights. With scrolls and other trump cards, they managed to temporarily halt the Ogres’ onslaught.
“Damn it, they are only creating chaos.” The guild leaders were infuriated. If they couldn’t stop the Ogres’ attack, their entire line of defense would collapse.
The danger was immense. If they all died, there would be no hope of obtaining the Divine Artifact.
Within just five or six minutes, the casual players were reduced to chaos, losing nearly half their numbers. This showed how terrifying it is when the battle line is broken.
“Finally, these large guilds still have some sense.” Li Yao breathed a sigh of relief. He had already gone all out. If all these players were killed at this point, there would be nothing he could do. The Dark Touch would become elusive.
After nearly an hour of heavy fighting, the number of Ogres was diminishing.
“Worthless, you’re all worthless! Where are your men? Stop them!” The Eye of Nightmare was furious to the extreme.
“Great master, please leave some seeds for our tribe. If we continue to fight, our tribe will be extinct,” pleaded the High Priest. Although zealous, he had not lost all of his sanity.
“Dare you defy the will of God?” The Eye of Nightmare gritted his teeth in anger. He wouldn’t give up the Dark Touch, as for the so-called believers, if they died, they died.
“My Lord, I am willing to die for my master, but please spare my remaining tribesmen,” the High Priest continuously kowtowed.
“Offer yourself and receive my blessing.”
There were still a large number of Ogres inside the cave, and he could feel that there were many of them. Although most of them were old or young, a significant part of them was more elite Ogres.
Upon hearing the call of the Eye of Nightmare, some Ogres wavered, for this was the god they had long worshipped.
A tall Ogre suddenly knelt down and loudly said, “I am the Chieftain of this tribe. I beg the Lord to have mercy. We have done our best and cannot obey this command.”
“Seal the mountain cave. We’ll open it in a couple of days,” the Ogre High Priest shouted towards the back.
“And you?” The Ogre Chieftain looked at the High Priest hesitantly.
“I will fight for my Lord until the last moment, to cleanse our sins,” the High Priest assured, “Go, there are too many of these alien creatures. We can’t kill them all.”
“Take care,” the Ogre Chieftain stood and shouted loudly, “Retreat to the cave and seal the entrance.”
With his command, the Ogres quickly retreated into their caves, and with a rumbling noise, the entrances were blocked.
“Damn it, damn you all,” screamed the Eye of Nightmare.
“Sigh, survival, huh?” Li Yao looked into the distance. He knew the final battle was about to begin. If they passed the last gate, it would be time to get the Dark Touch.
“May my Lord absolve us, I am willing to fight for the master until the last drop of blood drains,” the Ogre High Priest said firmly.
“In that case, release your will.”
With the words of the Eye of Nightmare, the Eye of Nightmare in the sky suddenly morphed into an eye rune, branded on the forehead of the Priest like lightning.
Roar…
The Priest’s body violently swelled. From an aged and frail body, it abruptly grew four to five yards bigger, turning into a nearly ten-yard Giant.
A dark cloud surrounded him, and many crimson Crystals grew on his body, protecting him like Armor.
At this moment, the line of corrupted Ogres had been pierced, the guild leaders were involved in heated discussions about claiming the Divine Artifact, then they saw the High Priest change.
They immediately ceased their arguments. They knew that they would have to fight one last time if they wanted to secure the Divine Artifact.
“Little insects like you dare lay your hands on my divine object. How laughable,” the Priest’s voice had changed to that of the Eye of Nightmare, apparently, he had temporarily taken over the Priest’s body.
The High Priest attempted to grab the Dark Touch, but the tendrils of the Dark Touch wrapped around his Wand, causing a massive amount of blood to spurt out.
The Eye of Nightmare broke free without caring about the bloody mutilation on his arm, roaring with laughter, “What a good baby. If absorbed, I will surely exist forever in this world and achieve the position of an immortal god.”
Listening to the words of the Eye of Nightmare, the players became even more frenzied. Something that even the Nightmare God desired must be extraordinary.
“Kill.”
Someone yelled, and then, a sky-full of attacks focused on the Eye of Nightmare.
As the Priest’s attack soared, Li Yao frowned in distress.
It wasn’t the Priest’s current attributes that worried him – he had seen all kinds of outdoor bosses in his previous life, even those with massive amounts of blood.
What he worried about was whether the players at this stage could cope with this kind of boss.
With so many players attacking a single boss for the first time, as the attacks continued, they could see the boss’s blood volume, which took everyone’s breath away.
Everyone was rattled, the amount of blood was simply despair-inducing.
“This is the final hurdle, a treasure that even a god yearns for. You should know its value. Think about it, how could such a powerful treasure be easily obtained?”
“Right, don’t hold back any longer. Let’s go all out,” …
What do you think?
