Chapter 1258 The Money Making Scheme
Chapter 1258 The Money Making Scheme
"How close are you to Level 10, Thomas?"
"Just a bit more…"
After Thomas reached Level 2 and allocated his unused stat points, it went without saying that the speed at which the two of them killed the monsters practically tripled.
Although Valyr still had to pin the monsters they chose to fight on the ground, the amount of damage Thomas was dealing to them was far greater than before, reducing the time they needed for each kill.
Adding on the fact that there was still a slight disparity between his level and the levels of the monsters he killed, it only took around half a day for Thomas to be at the same level as the monsters, allocating his unused stat points between VIT, STR, and AGI evenly as a foundation for his future path.
As for Valyr, once Thomas showed that he was more than capable of fighting against the monsters on his own, the young man decided to distance himself from him before fighting against some of the monsters on his own.
Boom!
Then again, with the massive disparity between his stats and the stats of the monsters, a single punch was pretty much all that was needed to kill the monsters he decided to target.
Because of that, it took far less time for Valyr to amass enough XP to reach Level 10, having no need to raise his level just to tip the scales to his favor.
After all, the scales were already tipped to his favor in the first place.
Whoosh! Whoosh!
Weaving through the desperate charges of the wild boar he was fighting, Thomas' eyes glistened with determination as he finally found his opportunity to land a couple of strikes.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Putting all of his strength into his attacks, it did not take long for the wild boar to succumb to his might, letting out a loud squeal in defeat before the final vestiges of vitality disappeared from its body.
"…And done." Briefly taking a look at his notifications he received, Thomas immediately began to grin as the aura he radiated slightly intensified in pressure, causing a slight smile to appear on Valyr's face in response.
"Congrats on finally reaching Level 10," said the young man to him. "How does it feel?"
"Feels great." Thomas grinned, sending out a series of punches and kicks soon after that were far faster than the ones he sent out during his first fight. "Of course, I wouldn't have gotten this far without your help at the start," the man continued. "I would've probably taken far longer to get to this point if not for your hard carry."
"All I did was just pin the monsters to the ground, that's all." Valyr chuckled as he slightly shrugged. "Aside from that, that was all you."
"Oh, please." Thomas let out a bit of laughter at Valyr's words, inwardly feeling a bit proud at what he achieved. "Anyways, are we gonna head to the Verdant Woodlands now?"
"Give me a second." Glancing at the sky for a bit, Valyr then went ahead and commanded the system to allocate the XP he earned so far towards raising his level.
Ding!
[33,397 XP has been allocated.]
[Your level has increased by 7 levels.]
[You are now Level 10.]
Whoosh!
Feeling the strength in his body undergo a slight increase, the young man had a faint smile on his face as he immediately suppressed the aura he was giving off.
'No need for Thomas to know my true strength.' Doing a few basic movements after that, he then went ahead and evenly allocated the stat points he got between INT and WIS.
"…Alright." Closing his eyes for a bit after that, he then looked at Thomas with a nod, signaling that he was ready. "Don't you wanna take a break first or something?"
Hearing this question, Thomas paused for a bit before glancing at the sky as well.
"Huh. Now that I think about it, we've been grinding our levels for an entire day," murmured the man in slight realization, falling somewhat silent after that.
"Feeling tired, Valyr?"
"Not really." Valyr shook his head in response. "I was asking in case you were feeling tired."
"Not at all." Thomas also shook his head, slightly chuckling soon after. "How could I when I feel like I'm still in top condition?"
"Besides, only three hours or so have passed on Earth. I could play for at least 5 more hours before calling it a day."
"…Right." Being reminded that he was now a player and not an NPC, Valyr still decided to have the two of them take a short break, much to the refusal of Thomas.
However, as a few more minutes passed, the exhaustion Thomas had been hiding all this time finally presented himself, eliciting a slight smirk to appear on Valyr's lips soon after.
'Knew it.'
With that, the two spent half an hour resting before making their way to the Verdant Woodlands, talking about various topics involving Greater Beyond along the way.
Unsurprisingly, with Thomas now at Level 10, it took far less time for them to traverse the remaining distance to the Verdant Woodlands, with the two arriving at its outskirts around half an hour later.
"We're here."
Staring at the large evergreen trees around the perimeter of the Verdant Woodlands, Valyr briefly reminded himself of the plan he came up with for the two of them to earn lots of money.
Of course, it went without saying that Thomas was thinking about the plan as well, his gaze also at the woodlands. "So, now that we're here, what plant and monster are we going to look for, exactly? n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
"We're going to look for Verdant Bluegrass and the Verdant Treeslug," said Valyr in response, prompting Thomas to raise his eyebrow in slight curiosity.
"They don't sound like they sell for a lot of money."
"If you sold them on their own, sure." Valyr nodded in agreement. "You could easily get a couple kilograms of both with just a silver coin."
"Why those items, then?" asked Thomas back.
"That's because these items could also be used as substitute ingredients for a rare elixir," replied Valyr with a grin.
"Specifically, a beauty elixir."
