Chapter 1224: Chapter 1223: Draka Klaki

"Normal was never going to grace us, Draka. It just was never in our cards... but hey, I don't mind the hand I was dealt, and I am certain you don't either~!"

Jahi grinned at the future Duchess and gestured to the three of us, her lustful side making its appearance in this reunion as she showed us off like trophies, something that made Draka's smile widen just a bit more as she nodded in agreement.

Despite being a Noble and the future Marquess of House Asmodia, Jahi made it abundantly clear - like always - that she was never going to speak like a Noble should, so even as I pinched her waist she just grinned at her fellow heir and added "Besides, this is the sort of thing that defines the rest of our lives, no? Being able to tell our children we braved the Labyrinthian and met the fabled Lilith would be quite the impeccable bragging rights~!"

"It would, but perhaps instead of bragging rights to lord over my children I would instead simply like to be there with all my limbs intact, hm?"

Her tone was light but there was real worry there as Draka looked at each of us, displaying the difference in how the five of us had all been raised; Anput and Jahi were yearning for the exploration and danger, Leone was overwhelmed with curiosity even if she wasn't directly showing it, and I was begrudgingly going along to keep them all from being idiots and almost dying.

Then there was Draka, who was clearly desiring to not be placed in this much danger if she didn't need to be while also thinking... perhaps not passively, but definitely more 'Nobly' than

we were.

It wasn't out of cowardice but instead out of clear worry for her family and her people, something I felt like I knew to be true thanks to the time we had spent together not so long ago, and I could definitely understand that concern, though to a lesser extent.

We had little sisters that we needed to come back to now, but Draka had her own child to come back to, a child that had either already been born or was getting close to being born... I honestly cannot remember.

Either way I had heard the news that she was now a parent of two and not just one, so the stakes for her were even higher than ours since she now had two lives depending on her going forwards, whereas we were just... us.

Sure the Duchess would take care of her children for her if something happened, but I definitely wasn't keen on the idea of leaving my baby to Mother to raise when it could have been me, and that wasn't because I felt like Mother would neglect or harm my baby; I just would rather be there to raise them, so...

I cannot imagine the worry that is flowing through her veins at the moment, and thankfully all three of my lovers had a reasonable amount of empathetic awareness to understand that point as well since none of them pressed her about it, and allowed us to take this conversation to another point instead of lingering on that.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

"I do wonder what the Labyrinthian will be like, and why we were ALL requested... Isn't that strange? Not just the four of us, who Lilith was going to see anyways, but you as well..? And Lady Fenyras? Plus Mom? That is quite the lineup, is it not?"

Draka looked over towards the Duchess, who was standing close to the Empress and speaking in a hushed, rapid tone as she made her concerns heard to the taller woman, but since we couldn't hear what she was saying we were left in our own little council.

"The first thing that pops into my mind is blood. Again, it wraps around to the blood flowing through all of our veins, and that is what concerns me. The Labyrinthian, Lilith..? Tied with the blood of a True Vampire, two Demoness - one that has Light Mana - and a Dragonkin? Then there is the blood of a Metal Mana user and of an Ice Mana user... Is that not a wide array of unique and or rare blood to find?"

"You think she is calling us for some sort of ritual or something? Wants to trap us and use our blood for her own gain?"

Draka just chuckled and shrugged, the pure white Dragonkin flashing her perfect fangs as she replied "I don't think she would be as idiotic as to incur the wrath of the Empress like that, as well as the wrath of my Mother with the potential of Uncle Ter' Ran joining as well... So no, I don't think she wants to trap us there, but still..."

I nodded and said "Well, I still think its a bit fishy, but it's not like we can do much except accept her invitation and head into the Labyrinthian... Ignoring her request would be stupid since I feel like she'll just come find us no matter what. Seems like she needs these people specifically."

"All of this is confusing, so let's talk about some other things~! Draka, have you made any progress with being a Dragon and all that entails~?"

Jahi was grinning at the porcelain doll standing in front of us, the teasing edge to her words making Draka roll her eyes as she began to respond, beginning a whole suite of bickering between the two as they measured who had the biggest member, so to speak.

The pros and cons of their blood and how they could do this better than that or how that was better than this in terms of this specific situation... gone was the Noble, with a friend taking their place instead as we took this moment of peace to reacquaint ourselves yet again, all while the adults in the room bickered on their own as well.

By the time we were moving to partake in a late lunch the room had experienced its own ebbs and flows of being far too hot and far too cold as the two powerful beings butted heads over and over again, but we just ignored them for now since there was nothing to gain from throwing fuel on this particular fire.
