Frost had also gained a substantial upgrade since the war in Grandis. Nearly all her stats came from her resonance with the Nexus when she achieved Asencio Lux Per Viam Flammarum (The Ascension of Light Through the Path of Flames).
The unrecognized phenomenon sent the Archetypes scrambling for an explanation for the last few weeks. It wasn’t any easier with the appearance of the Yetzirah along the Arbiter’s holy blade; Paradise Lost.
Four theories emerged.
The first came from Anna. She believed that it was linked with Frost reaching an epiphany during the Firth State.
Michaela on the other hand was convinced that it was the result of them exceeding the Fifth State.
It does make sense if it’s beyond the Fifth State, since the Fifth State is still just a State. The most it allows me to do is equip Paradise Lost Corrupted and strengthen my Corrupted Zone.
Lailah thought of it as an ascension akin to weathering through tribulations akin to a path of flames, much like the name entailed.
As for Magus, he had the soundest theory of them all.
A miniature Awakening. I guess all of them can work together. But the weird part is that it also affects the Healers. The first time it happened introduced the Fractured Doves. And now the second brought in the Sanguine Doves. If it’s an ascension, then what exactly am I climbing?
< The Floors of the Nexus is the first to come to mind >
Desire, and now Wrath. It didn’t make much sense to Frost as to how this correlated with the Healers. These thoughts distracted her as she slit her thumb with a tooth. The blood pooled unnaturally beneath her. Half were absorbed into the snow, whilst the other swirled just inches off the ground like a red whirlpool.
“I can’t get over it no matter how many times I see it. It’s like your blood is afraid of being contaminated.”
Jury wasn’t wrong.
The partially melted snow did not merge with Frost’s blood like it was an oil. The water particles that managed to get close were consumed by her blood rather than diluting it. It remained in a pure, unadulterated form no matter what it was exposed to.
Status.

Frost began with her Professions.
Sanguine Genesis was her first and only ODSE Amalgamation Profession. It was a Profession with Skills that were not limited to the ODSE category of the Profession. In layman’s terms, she could gain an Active and Passive Skill in any of the Offensive, Defensive, Support and Exploration Profession.
Professions used to be a rare, scarce upgrade, so she was shocked to find that she had gained five new Professions including Sanguine Genesis.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
But this was to be expected considering that her total level was 400.

Levels did not directly indicate strength. Frost easily had enough Skills to continue climbing. What surprised her was that the Nexus continued to give out Skills and Professions after every 50 Levels.
I have no limit. Levels indicate a person’s soul quality. But that’s dictated by how much Light a person can hold. That is why Moons can reach as far as Level 200, and Beholders at 250. Cer has a higher soul quality thanks to her Awakening to bypass the Level 200 limit.
Frost was in the same power level as the Beholders, all things considered. But that was changing as such a rapid rate that it wouldn’t be long before she could far surpass them. In fact, she was confident that she could take on a Beholder with the way she was now.
That being said, Sanguine Genesis came with its own bundle of Active Skills, Passive Skills and an Ability.
Firstly, she began with her new Skills in the Conflagrator Profession.
(O) Superheat [0/10]
< EFFECT: Heat a target anywhere from room temperature to its melting point. Can only be used on objects or non-living targets. May melt metals up to Adamantium >
The Skill itself did not manifest unless she was in contact with an object. Frost carved out a chunk of frozen rock beneath her and held it in her palms. A faint glow emitted from the rock before melting away into a slag.
“The object is hot, but the air doesn’t change in temperature. [Superheat] solely affect the object I’m holding.”
Next was [Plasma Cutter].
(O) Plasma Cutter [0/10]
< EFFECT: Concentrate the entirety of your heat into a wrist-mounted blade. Plasma arcs can be fired with the swing of your arm. Deal 4x your total amount of MAG ATT on direct hits. Deal 2x your MAG ATT if target is hit by your plasma arcs >
< COST: 25,000 MP >
It was an absurd cost, but it more than made up for it in its raw power. A light purple, incandescent blade made of pure plasma sprouted from the top of her wrists. They were 40 centimeters long, and they curved downwards until they were level with her fingers.
Like Superheat, they did not radiate heat. However, upon carving the blades into the stone, they began to leave a trail of blinding, molten rock. It effortlessly cut through stone like a razor through a sheet of paper.
She could only imagine what it would do to an enemy. Unsurprisingly, it was a Passive Skill that was the cause of this abnormality.
(O) PASSIVE: Legacy of Cinder
< EFFECT: Your mastery over flames enables you to control the transfer of heat >
Frost tested [Plasma Cutter] further on the side of a mountain.
With one great swing, a brilliant purple arc of energy was fired from her wrist. It grew from a mere 5 meters in length to a spectacular 50 meters. The further the arc travelled, the larger it grew. But it came at the downside of losing much of its strength.
Not that it mattered here. The cliff face collapsed in the wake of her power. It shook the world and roused sleeping blankets of untouched snow. An avalanche had formed because of her attack.
She did not need to move. The thousands of tons of snow and rock would do little to her anyway. But it was the perfect introduction to her next two Professions.
Devourer, a Profession that centered around her abnormal ability to consume virtually any material in the world. Qliphoth was included in this list, though only if she was able to crunch it up with Third State Absolution Skills.
(O) Summon Apparition: Mimicry [0/10]
< EFFECT: Summon forth a Mimic of Amalgamation. It will carry your appearance according to its own primitive Will. HP, MP and Stats of targets it devours will be sent directly to you. You may remotely replenish HP and MP through it. Only one Mimic of Amalgamation may exist >
< COST: 100,000 MP. Requires the blood of the Progenitor (Amalgam) and 1 Light >
What do you think?
