Novel's Extra: I Awakened The Strongest Physique From The Start

CHAPTER 96 - Mira's Back.

In the hall of the student council building, light filtered through the high arches windows, filling the hall with light, not having a need to lighten the mana bulbs.

There was a long meeting table at the center of the hall and four thrones at one end of the hall, right next to the table. Upon one of them sat Alex.

"Come in," he spoke the moment the knock on the door was heard, making every pair of eyes turn to the gate, which was pushed open the moment his voice fell.

Creak

The moment the door opened, the people in the hall raised a brow in surprise at the sight of the new entrant.

"Huh? Isn't that the winner of this year's election competition?"

A guy with pale skin, pointy ears, a handsome face, light brown hair, and green eyes spoke up as the door to the hall swung open. He sat beside Gurrak, his posture relaxed yet attentive.

He was an elf—famous among the academy's girls for his looks, even ranked among the top ten in their unofficial lists—Aerenion Vaelion, crown prince of the Earth Elf kingdom and the student council's resource manager.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

His role was to broker deals, though in truth, he often found himself assisting Alex, who insisted on intervening to maximize profit—something he found annoying but learned to live with.

"Yeah... now that I think about it, she was supposed to be given a position in the student council..." another voice replied, trailing off as all eyes turned to Gurrak.

The goblin raised an eyebrow. Gurrak was a first-year student, and if anyone from his year deserved a seat in the council, it was the competition winner, not someone recommended by the council.

The winner of the election competition was guaranteed a council seat as their reward. If Zyrrak were still present instead of Gurrak, things might have been different—one couldn't replace an existing member with a newcomer. But now, with the situation shifting, complications arose. Especially if the girl who had just entered—now staring at Alex—demanded the treasurer's seat.

Gurrak knew all that, yet he just scoffed, a knowing smirk on his face. He trusted Alex had already devised a solution and chose not to voice his thoughts, turning instead to the owner of the last comment.

The boy's name was Rodeus—a brown-skinned boy with striking blue hair and eyes. He served as the council's master of ceremonies or, more precisely, the event coordinator. He'd seized the position by challenging the previous holder and winning.

Surprisingly, none of the council's key members opposed his unconventional entry. They even embraced him, treating him as one of their own. What Rodeus didn't realize, however, was that his loyalty and gullibility made him an easy pawn—qualities that secured his place in the council.

'And if the rumors are true, she's a human—and a commoner at that,' thought Rodeus. He was a human commoner himself—the first commoner to hold a student council position.

'Also, she's beautiful…' Rodeus thought, his gaze lingering on the girl—the competition winner. Her flowing cream-colored hair, royal blue eyes, modest figure, and otherworldly face captivated him. He could hardly believe someone like her was a commoner.

While Rodeus wasn't unattractive, the girl who had just entered was on another level. Even the female council members, known as some of the academy's finest beauties, were visibly taken aback. This was their first time seeing her—except for Lilia, of course.

The girl in question was Mira, Vanessa's disciple and one of the main heroines of the story. Her gaze locked onto Alex's—the only person she cared about in this hall and the reason for her being here. 'Ah... this again...' She sighed as she felt her heartbeat race again.

It had been around a week since she had seen him, but knowing that she would be able to live in his mansion and be in the student council with him—meaning she would be with him all day long—she found herself desiring for it more and more.

Now, when she finally saw him, a strange sense of relief filled her, but along with it came the same feeling of growing fondness—something she still wasn't able to understand the meaning of.

Alex, on the other hand, oblivious to her thoughts, observed her with growing interest.

'Looks like she finished her training,' Alex mused. He understood why she hadn't come to the council hall earlier—Vanessa had called her in for the final days of her training.

The final training session was supposed to last longer—two or three more days from now—but Mira, determined to claim her council seat so that she could see Alex daily, had worked tirelessly to complete her tasks early. Vanessa had drilled her in the fundamentals, and Mira had absorbed everything like a sponge.

Now, she was here.

"Welcome to the student council, Mira, from the first-year knights' course," Theron greeted her calmly. Yet concern flickered in his expression. If Mira desired the treasurer's seat, the council would face a dilemma. Still, Theron decided to cross that bridge if it came. He'd heard Mira was a unique case with some issues.

But the next second...

'What the…?' The room fell into disbelieving silence as Mira completely ignored Theron's welcome, her blank gaze fixed solely on Alex as she stepped toward him.

The way her eyes looked at Alex made the girls feel a bit uneasy for some reason, but now that she had blatantly ignored Theron, the council head's words, others felt strange as well.

'What is she trying to do?' Was the thought in everyone's head.

Before anyone could speak up, Alex rose from his throne and addressed the room.

"I'm sorry on her behalf, everyone," he said, his voice tinged with apology. "She's always been like this. She can't talk to people, nor does she understand how or when to react. Please don't take offense." Continue reading stories on empire

His words deepened their frowns, now tinged with confusion.

"What do you mean?" Lilia asked, tilting her head. Alex defending Mira—a stranger to most—struck her as odd.

"Well," Alex scratched the back of his head, glancing at each person in the room. He sighed. "I'm not supposed to tell anyone, but her physique is special. It makes it impossible for her to feel emotions and drastically lowers her emotional intelligence."

Realization dawned on their faces. They scrutinized Mira, curious about the nature of her condition.

"Why do you know so much about her, though?" Zahara's voice broke the silence, suspicion lacing her tone—something Lilia wanted to do as well.

"She's my mother's disciple. How could I not know her?" Alex replied without a moment's thought, shrugging nonchalantly.

His nonchalant response, however, stunned the room into silence.

"..."

The council members exchanged glances, wanting to confirm that they weren't the only ones who heard him before Fenna, Zahara, Aelora, and Rodeus exclaimed in unison.

"WHAT?!"

Others frowned as well, but their expressions were tinged with understanding.

'So that's why he helped her during the competition...' Lilia thought, recalling how Alex had manipulated the audience. Now it all made sense. Mira wasn't just a stranger to him after all.

"What are you all so shocked about?" Alex asked, looking between them. "What's so surprising about her being my mother's disciple?"

His gaze swept the room, challenging their reactions.

"No, well... it's just shocking that your mother had a disciple. 'No one' knew about it until now," Zahara emphasized, her tone almost accusatory.

"Oh, that. My apologies again. It slipped my mind," Alex admitted, blaming the backlash he was suffering.

Meanwhile, Mira stood before Alex, staring intently at him. Her unyielding focus didn't bother Alex—he was used to it—but the other girls found it unnerving.

It was then as if sensing Theron's worry about Gurrak's seat, Alex added, "Also, you guys don't need to worry about her position. I've already decided on it."

Curiosity piqued, they raised their eyebrows.

"What position is it?" Theron asked, his calm demeanor barely masking his interest.

"Well," Alex smirked, turning to Mira, who nodded, a strange light flickering in her dull blue eyes. "She's going to be..."

The council members, with utmost focus, waited for his words to complete, oblivious to the surprise they were going to face.
