Otaku Witch

Chapter 49 45. Too embarrassed to meet people

The Magical Beast Carriage continued to advance.

By now, it had reached the vicinity of the port, where the road inevitably became somewhat crowded. Although Moon Sea Territory could only be considered an eighteenth-tier small city in the Witch World, for the various otherworldly races under its jurisdiction, this Witch Floating Island was undoubtedly the absolute center of the vast domain.

The exotic races who could live on this Floating Island were the elites among their respective groups.

Every year, countless members of otherworldly races would come to this island full of various aspirations, and even though the cost of getting onto the island was quite expensive and the cost of living on the island was set according to witch standards, making it somewhat difficult for the weaker races, this still could not stop those who longed for the Witch World from flocking here.

Just like Dorothy's father, Adam, who was once one of these Dream Chasers.

Therefore, even though the port road had been built wide enough, it was still overcrowded. Moreover, since other races needed to process various entrance procedures and ascertain their levels when they first came to the Witch Sky Island, it seemed particularly congested.

But this crowding was unrelated to witches, after all, they would simply fly directly. The ground may be crowded, but the sky remained quite spacious.

The no-fly rule on the Floating Island was generally only enforced in the main city area, and here at the port in the suburbs, witches could fly however they wanted. As long as you didn't cause a traffic accident, no one would mind even if you performed fancy flying maneuvers right here.

Thus, the eight unicorns pulling the carriage spread their wings, and between light taps of their hooves, the magic carriage raced through the sea of clouds. The various other races still queuing miserably below looked up to see this luxurious carriage fly past.

Quite a few children started to call out loudly to their parents, while the adult members of the other races looked on with longing and aspiration before quickly bowing their heads and continuing to queue.

The life of a witch was too remote for these exotic races, no different from a myth. The affairs of deities were not something these mortals could imagine, so it was better to think about how to live in this heavenly Divine Realm in the future.

These individuals on the ground below, who were notable figures within their respective races, had given up everything for the opportunity to ascend to the sky—they absolutely could not afford to fall back to the mortal realm again.

In fact, it wasn't just the other races who were astonished by this luxurious carriage; even the witches flying overhead cleared the way by steering their brooms, fearing they might accidentally bump into it, which could cause them to go bankrupt if they were liable for damages.

Quite a few younger witches excitedly screamed, then pulled out their Magic Wands and kept casting the Photography Technique, planning to post about their encounter with a big shot on the Magic Network later.

The older witches were more focused on the carriage's Great Dragon Badge, showing surprise and wondering why a Dragon Witch would come to their eighteenth-tier small city. Moreover, the display suggested that the visitor was a significant figure.

They probably had an extra topic to talk about at dinner with their family tonight.

Inside the carriage, Dorothy looked out the window and felt it was all quite magical.

Just yesterday, she was likely one of these onlookers, marveling at the Sea Moon Floating Island and thinking how great men should aspire to be, and now she had become the object of others' envy.

She wondered if any of the onlookers had the same thoughts she had before about replacing someone else's position.

Fate was indeed mysterious.

But after passing through the Portal, it would be the Witch Academy, and although the feeling of arriving at school in such a splendid carriage was quite exhilarating, wasn't it a bit too showy?

She thought somewhat abashedly to herself.

Across from her, Euphilia glanced at her daughter and almost instantly understood her thoughts, so she spoke up.

"You want to stop with that disgraceful behavior. If you want to be a qualified Lord in the future, an appropriate display of status is necessary. As a Lord, your every word and deed should set an example for your subjects, you need to inspire their desires and give them the motivation to move forward."

"You think it's noble to be modest in your position of power? Hah, how foolish. If you, as a Lord, are still frugal, then what about your followers? Should they display even more grandeur than you, their Lord? They would only be able to imitate your frugality, but do you think they follow you to lead a life of hardship and simplicity? If everyone in the territory is frugal, how can it develop?"

"Dorothy, you must remember that everything else in this world is false. Only strength and interest are the true scepters in the hands of the upper-level ones," the Dragon Witch chided her undeserving daughter as she passed on her experience as a Lord.

Alas, this daughter was fine in all other respects, but lackluster when it came to vision. How could she always appear so weak? She was timid, without any of the recklessness and unruliness that a young witch should have.

And don't get me started on her appearance. What's up with that?

She wore her bangs long, hid behind large glasses, and wrapped her neck in a scarf that covered half her face. What was this? Was she ashamed to be seen?

However, speaking of which, her mother still didn't seem to know what her own daughter actually looked like.

After realizing this, the Dragon Witch promptly took action. She reached out and took off her daughter's glasses, pulled down her scarf, and finally flipped her long bangs up, and then...

When that nation-toppling beauty and charm surfaced, captivating all beings with a face of perfection, the carriage once again fell silent. Not only Euphilia but even the Angel Witch, who had only seen a profile, held her breath, losing the ability to speak for a moment.

Euphilia: "..."

Sophia: "..."

The Dragon Witch silently let her daughter's bangs fall back into place, fitted the glasses back on, rewrapped the scarf, and this time covered her even more securely before she exhaled in relief.

"You should be more careful when you go out. As a girl, you must protect yourself, there are many bad people out there. And Sophia, you too; at the academy, make sure you look after Dorothy. Keep a tight watch on her, and don't let just anyone come near her."

"Yeah, and about the student dormitories, Dorothy, you don't need to stay there. Just move in and live with Sophia instead. Otherwise, I'd be a bit worried."

After a moment of silence, Euphilia recalled her family tree, confirming that her ancestors for eighteen generations were all pure Dragon Witches, without any trace of Succubus Witches or Fox Witches, and so she reluctantly instructed the two in front of her.

Dorothy: "....."

Experience tales with empire

What is this exaggeration? It's like I can't be seen by anyone?

But she was already too late to resist, as the carriage had finally reached the entrance to the Portal.

Dorothy's face paled, and she quickly pulled a bag from her backpack and held it to her mouth.

After that...

"Ugh... this damn teleportation syndrome."

...A beautiful girl vomiting rainbows...

Ahead, the Witch Academy had arrived.
