Chapter 257 [Infernals!]

[Helios' POV Continued!]

.

Who are the Infernals?

The answer could be as simple as the minions of Laplace, the former ruler of hell. Or it could go into a lengthy essay about the beings who are collectively the worst in existence to have ever walked this world.

It goes beyond good and evil. They don't have barriers or limits to what they do, and they are generally the epitome of all the wrongs you could think of. As a matter of fact, there was a period of the Dark Age a few centuries ago where these beings roamed and terrified the entire planet.

If I can give a fine example of their existence then, consider this. 70% of the Ancient Gods exist because of the deeds that these beings did. They are the reason people started worshiping emotions like malice and curses.

If not for an open war against them, the world would have long perished. The fact that they are here in front of us again is nothing but a disaster for the world. I just hope they haven't gotten stronger than they were last time. Even if they did, let the margin not be too far.

"Helios! My friend! Aren't you gonna greet me back? It makes me sad. Are these your new friends? Hey! I remember the boring magic guy and that blindey. But who are these two cuties? Are they good in bed? Haha! Guess I will find out later," Niera spoke as he looked at me with a mischievous gaze.

"[Sun Magic: Golden Blood Bond!]" I mumbled as I chanted a magic that covered my entire body with golden runes, amplifying my physical capabilities by a huge margin.

"Oh! Are we starting already? I thought we were going to chit chat first. It's been a loooong time already!" He spoke before he vanished from there and…

-BOOOM!!!!

And appeared right in front of the barrier, kicking with all his might. Hecate observed him with a keen gaze before looking at an old being standing at the far end of the group. An old half-dragon that Laplace brought to his side after defeating him badly.

He was a dark magician that excelled in various types of magics that he could create with dark magic as its base. His dragonic genes made it easier for him to experiment as much as he desired with mana. Though his greed went beyond that as he captured beings from all races, killing millions in the name of experiments.

"It seems. You have improved a bit, Hecate," that old man spoke with a feeble voice as he observed the barrier before he mumbled," [Infernal Magic: Collapsing Darkness!]"n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

And then the sky darkened, as a mana ball made up of darkness covered the entire sky. Our eyes narrowed as we looked at that giant ball coming towards us. As the God of Sun, I can easily remove that but before I could even do so… that angel, Raphi.

"You are Laplace, right? Can you ask your minion to not interfere with my meditation?" She spoke in a low voice that was somehow heard by everyone present on the battlefield. It was a Spirit Speech, but there was something different about it… something ethereal…

"Oh, another beaut-" Niera was about to speak, but he shut up as even he felt the strange energy within that angel.

She looked up in the sky at that dark magic ball and mumbled," [Basic Spell: Light!]"

And then…

The entire sky turned bright blue as that giant black ball vanished from the sky. Once again, we felt the difference between our existences. Once again, we felt like we were looking at beings who were far above us.

Even though they felt weak, their powers felt limited, they always had this strange logic defining capabilities that makes us wonder if our existence really mattered. Despite being higher gods, are we really just nothing in the end?

'No… I cannot let another person define my existence. My existence is mine. My life is mine… and even though I am weak now… I am a higher god. My destiny… I will shape it however I desire…' and once again I looked in front, at the guy, Niera. My eyes burning with an intense desire to finish him once again. This time much faster than how long it went before.

"Don't lose your cool, Helios. I know how you feel, but for now, focus on what you can do. We will do the same. Right, Castellina?" Hecate spoke as he observed the situation before taking a look at Alepsia and Verice.

"You girls haven't fought with these ones, right? I will tell you a couple of things. Don't show mercy to any of them. They are many times worse than anything you have seen in your life. Do not underestimate them, they are brutally strong. And finally, always be cautious. They will resort to all sorts of trickery and go below the lowest point if they want to win. Their immorality has no limit," Hecate spoke out in a serious tone, making the two girls nod before they observed the infernals with a deep look.

"Oh! Come on, darling! We aren't that great," one of them, a girl with two heads, said as she licked her bladed fingers with a sleazy look on her face. She observed all of us as if we were food.

"Yeah! We are far worse than that! Hahahaha!" And a young innocent looking girl spoke enthusiastically, trying to act cute. If not for that strange empty bag of hers, most of the gods wouldn't even know that she was one of the infernals. That bag was for storing souls of all the beings she had killed. According to her, it was a collection of sorts.

The rest of the infernals also began walking towards us, each of them taking one step at a time as they looked at us with a mocking smile. And while we prepared for the fight, he appeared out of nowhere with a smile on his face.

"Are you guys having fun without me?"

That guy… Adam Wesker appeared, standing nonchalantly in between those infernals.
