Chapter 265 [Daily Life of an Inspector in Inverse Realm!]

For anyone wondering who Milliam is, she was one of the inspectors of hell back from the Border Town Arc. She appeared with the hell's guardian, Black Shadow, in the Inverse World/Dimension and then soon was taken by Hell Guardian Vampire Queen.

[Milliam's POV]

'The best thing I did to survive in this unforsaken realm was to put my life on the line. It was ironic but I will probably do it again. After all, the other option meant to stop growing and someday get eaten up by someone whom you could have beaten… or at least run away from.'

—- Inspector Milliam Uncleave of the 18th Division, under the Duke Asbestos, under the Hell Guardian, Vampire Queen Primula.

The hot wind brushed against my face as I stood on my gargoyle, a kilometer above the ground, flying through the skies of Fridgar, the Capital City under the Kingdom of Vampires.

"Location 7 clear," I mumbled as I checked through the city streets, all the way to the 7th entrance of the city. The people, the slaves, the other monsters were all in their respective places as normal.

Since my duty was the same as before when I used to work with Lord Black Shadow, the task of the day was usually to check out the city for any abnormalities, mark any newcomers and scout the area beyond the city for any irregularities. If they were not too out of control, I was also tasked to take care of things on my own.

Outside of this, there wasn't much work for me. I could use my free time as I wished, and unless the Duke or the Queen summoned for me anything in particular, I am basically on my own.

"Location 8 Clear," I mumbled as I focused, a bit extra careful, trying to find a certain entity that I was told to look for. Abraham Lincon, was it? It's already been a month since I have come to this city, but still there was no information or sight of that man.

'Does he really hold the cure for my clan?' I pondered a bit before putting it at the back of my mind. It wasn't something I was going to find out unless I met Abraham. So until then, let's keep looking.

I extended my senses to my indeads that were hiding within the city and looked at every nook and cranny that I could before sighing and then speaking,

"Location 9, Clear."

There were 12 Gates of the Capital city Fridgar, and dividing the city into 12 equal parts, I usually finished my everyday scouting one at a time before moving to take another round outside the city parameters for a close up.

Honestly, it was kind of boring. Wasn't much different from what I have used to do before though.

"What should I have for lunch today?" I pondered out loud as I was looking through the 10th Location. My eyes sharing the senses of my undeads.

"Perhaps I could try the new syrup soup made by the Elder Witch? It certainly has grown popular. Or perhaps I could-"

As I was speaking, I checked through the area where the Elder Witch's Restaurant was. And the first thing that I found there made me pause in my search.

Black hair and blue eyes, something that you would rarely find in the inverse realm. His casual outfit that seemed to be depicting a cool and calm nature, contradicted the gluttonous gaze the vampires showed that human.

His smile that seemed to be having everything under his control mismatched with his lack of power, but I knew. He was the last person that anyone should underestimate.

Calling my Gargoyle back, I then let myself fall from the height, down towards the restaurant. My eyes closed, I kept observing that man taking a sip as he kept staring at the lady bartender with a flirty smile. There were some commotions as a couple of people were staring at each other, almost ready to pounce at him but still didn't, focusing other 'hunters' in check.

After all, humans were one of the rarest of the prays among the vampires.

As soon as I fell enough to reach about 200 meters away from surface, I teleported myself to the nearest highest spot before using the same skill again

And then reaching in front of the door of the restaurant where that guy was sitting. Slowly opening the door, I entered the restaurant…

"See, I told you she would come. Hey, Milliam! Here!" calling me out, he looked at me with a bright smile. His hand in the air, he gestured to me to reach him before he added," now that I have won the bet, how about it? Wanna go out with me this evening?"

His smile, same as before as he looked at the semi vampire-succubus, while she kept observing me with a dubious expression.

Shaking my head with a low sigh, I then walked towards him.

My appearance made everyone look at me with a confused yet scared expression. There are only about 2 dozen Inspectors, and despite being between 3 ranks below the Royal Guards, we Inspectors are still the monsters that have the authority to take a private audience with the Queen.

And the Queen. She treats her close vassals as her own children.

"You are late," I spoke as I reached closer to him, while he gave me a side eye before answering," come on Milliam! Be a good wingman, will you? I was about to bag this beauty for tonight."

He then leaned in closer as he added in a whisper," she has the tricks of the succubus and the stamina of a vampire, you know?"

I sighed as I grabbed him by his hand before turning to the bartender," next time he appears here, inform me as soon as you can," and speaking that, I moved towards an empty seat with Adam with me.

Though some of the vampires who were watching, emptied the seats in a hurry before the waiters cleaned everything on the table in a single sweep. It was fast, and within a blink, the nearest table of four was empty.

"Please. It would be improper to make our regular inspector walk so much," a voice came as an Elder witch appeared from behind the counter. She was the owner of the restaurant, and a person I knew from my weekly visits here.

"And her guest must be treated as equal to her as well," she added as she tried analyzing Adam, who smiled like an idiot as he spoke," wowsy! Another beauty!"

Ignoring him, I then sat on the seat while he kept speaking,

"Though you are wrong about two things," and then he raised two fingers before adding,

"One was that I wasn't equal to Milliam. She is someone far above me. You can even treat me as an everyday regular guy, you know? It would be disrespectful to her."

My eyes narrowed at him as spoke that. Just what was he trying to do here?

"The other was that I didn't come here just to meet her. There were two more people," he smiled as he signalled her to sit with us as well. And then my eyes narrowed at the confused witch as she tried understanding his intentions as much as I did.

"What could you possibly want from me, young sir?" The elder witch kept a polite smile. As for the answer to that, it came from the main gate as another young woman appeared there.

An aura that sent chills down my spine, and made others lose their senses. And before they could even think, they all stood up together. The waiter, the customers, the bartender, the receptionists. All of them moved out of the restaurant in a simple manner, in the most civilised manner this city has ever seen.

And then the young lady walked, she walked closer to us, her eyes fixed at Adam, observing him as she tried to analyze him from top to bottom.

"This humble nobody greets the Vampire Queen, the Hell Guardian, Primula," Adam greeted the Queen with a polite innocent smile and a smile before he waited for the Queen to reach him.

"Why are you here, Fate Weaver?" The Queen asked.

"To fulfill my request as I promised. Though there have been a few more complications there, so I must also warn you about them," he added before looking at me and then the Elder witch who was too shocked to speak anything.

And when her senses came back to her, she immediately got on her knees, her entire body shaking as she sweated profusely.

"Is she important to the discussion?" The Queen asked, making the elder witch almost lose colours. Her entire life was probably hanged by a thread whose fate was controlled by the words of Adam.

"Obviously. You think I will let any lady around me in such an important discussion just because she was beautiful?" He spoke matter-of-factly, making the Queen narrow her eyes at him before she ignored the elder witch and then sat on the seat beside me.

Adam sat opposite to me, beside the Queen, before looking at the elder witch, waiting for her to sit on the last seat between me and Adam, opposite to the Queen. The elder witch prostrated there, without making any movements before the Queen sighed.

"How long are you going to make the Queen wait?" I added, making her realise the seriousness of the issue before she stood up and then hurriedly sat on the empty seat. She still didn't dare to raise her head though.

"So. Tell me. Did you find him?" The Queen asked as she looked at Adam, while he was filling the glass with nocturn blood water. Something like a purified blood that was made to suit the taste of all races in the inverse realm.

He took a sip before puking on the other side as he screamed, "shit's too salty," and then put the glass back on the table as he wiped the mouth and spoke,

"About that. That Heaven's Guardian. I don't know where he is right now, but I know where he is going to be in two weeks. I can tell you the time and place, but things are more complicated so let me start from the beginning."

Starting from the Angel that fell, he started telling about the search that was gathering demons, angels and even the Gods. The involvement of the other Fate Weavers such as Luciana and Zero. Even the Demon King Laplace.

He told us about an incoming war, and the time and location of the guy, the Heaven's Guardian that the Queen was searching for. He also added details about the plan of Laplace to destroy the entire world along with him since he was an immortal.

And as he reached the end of story, he waited for the Queen to answer. The Queen kept her silence as she analyzed all the things that Adam said before speaking,

"The end of the world, huh? The Fate Weavers are always crazy. But still, you finished your end of the deal."

Her eyes, a bit satisfied with what Adam told her, then focused on Adam as she spoke,"Tell me, Fate Weaver, what do you want from me? I will listen to one of your requests as long as it is not beyond my scope."

Adam pondered for a brief moment before answering," in the next few years, one of my brothers, Abraham Lincon, will start a great war in the inverse realm. Including various other places in this realm, he will also kill about a dozen external cities of the vampires as well. What I need from you is to turn a blind eye to that."

"…"

"…"

"…"

To ask the Queen to turn a blind eye to her own people's death… such guts…

The Elder Witch looked like she was about to pass out as she looked at Adam. Her eyes almost out of her sockets, her heart beat so loud even I could hear it now.

As for the Queen, she narrowed her eyes at Adam for a few seconds before asking,

"So you want me to close my eyes as you kill my own kin?"

"Yes," he answered with a calculative smile while the Queen kept observing her for a few more seconds.

"Is he going to kill any inspectors or dukes in that city?" She asked again.

"Yes," Adam, who was smiling before, now turned serious and then spoke with a heavy voice," 2 dukes and 5 Inspectors will be hunted by my brother. According to him, they are the people that must die, so there is nothing I can do about it."

"Can I protect them?" The Queen asked as she looked at Adam who scoffed before a smirk forming on his face as he answered," you can try."

And then he stood up before adding," well. This is more like a brother's request than a personal one, the least I can do as a brother. And honestly, whatever is between him and the demons, vampires and stuff, I hope we can maintain our neutral-friendliesh-type of relation the same as before."

"If I were to kill your brother, are you going to interfere?" The Queen asked and Adam pondered before answering," personally, I would rather avoid a fight with a hell's guardian. Though, if you do happen to kill him, our leader is more likely to summon all of us and hunt you down until you are finally dead. So, it's more of an advice but… please don't do anything rash."

"…"

"…"

"All right. I will comply with your request. But I will do things in my own way as well," the Queen finally decided and Adam smiled as he added," whatever suits you best."

Her eyes then turned to me, and then at the elder witch before she asked," why did you bring her here? I believe she herself had no idea why she was here, sitting at the table with us."

Adam then showed an amused smile before speaking," about that. She is a Space Witch whose powers function on Blood and Spirit Magic. You are going to need it if you want to enter the mortal realm, in the middle of the war."

"How did you…" the queen spoke with a bit of surprise before she looked at the Elder Witch with a spark in her eyes. The elder witch herself was shocked as she observed Adam before he added as he looked at me,

"Also Milliam is from the Ancient Demonic Race of Vitara."

"HUH?!!!" And the Queen was shocked again as she turned to me, while I myself was stupefied while observing Adam as he revealed one of my deepest secrets so easily. How did he know? And why did he tell-n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

"Bye now," Adam chuckled before he vanished from there in an instant, erasing his trace as if he never existed there. While there were minor traces of space magic, it was too pin point for me to even notice. Though… It was the least of my worries right now.

I turned to the Queen before wondering how to escape from there, though the Queen's words stopped me before I could do anything,

"So you are from my Race, Milliam?!"

"Huh?" I questioned as I looked at her with an even stupefied expression on my face.

The Queen is… a Vitara?
