Chapter 330 Bootlicker
While Yaren continued to grade the answers as she pleased, those who were disqualified remained seated.
The other employees that were assigned here to assist Yaren were speechless.
It wasn't that these employees didn't want to eject them from the section, but these contestants were practically on the verge of violence.
The veins in their forehead seemed as if they were going to pop out any time, their fist clenched tightly.
"Um, Elder Yaren," One of the employees turned to Yaren, interrupting her in the process.
Annoyed, Yaren paused her rambling and glared at the employee.
"What do you want?" She raised an eyebrow. "Are you tired of your pretty face and want some new makeup?"
Hurriedly, the employee shook their head and pointed at the disqualified contestant, "They refused to leave and their aura is hindering our approach."
Not all employees here were strong like Yaren. Most of them were just decently strong and received protection by working for the City Hall.
Thus, none dared to actually harm them unless they wanted to challenge the City Hall governing Paradise Plains.
"It seemed like my warnings from earlier were just a bunch of empty words to you people eh," Displeased, Yaren turned her gaze at those disqualified but remained seated.
"You misunderstood us," One of them found the courage and stood up. "We just want to know why you graded our answer as a fail."
Hearing that, Yaren snorted coldly. "Very well, your number is 12 huh."
She found their previous magical paper response and laughed when reading it again.
"You answered that the possibility of the result is either failure or success, but that's about it. With such a subpar response, and you want to win the competition? Why don't you just get back to your city and bang your head?"
"But that's exactly how the outcome would be!" Argued the contestant.
"Hmph, an incompetent and ignorant blacksmith like you could only think that's the answer. If you can't even think outside the box, then don't even attempt to be in the Blacksmith Profession." Yaren waved her hand, and instantly, the contestant was sent backward.Nôv(el)B\\jnn
By the time they fell to the ground, they were already unconscious.
However, Yaren wasn't done and did the same for those who were refusing to accept the result.
Each and every one of the disqualified contestants was knocked unconscious and was going to be detained, following the same treatment as the earlier unlucky contestant.
While this scene occurred in the section, outside the audience, some were cheering in excitement.
"Haha as expected of the Elder Yaren! Look at those idiots who refused to accept the result!"
"Hehe, I've earned big this time. Knowing Elder Yaren, I bet that she would detain at least 10 contestants, and I was right."
"Damn, I should have done the same. I can't believe these contestants are so brain-dead to actually attempt to protest or reason with Elder Yaren."
As the crowd continued to chatter among themselves, Carmen's eyes remained fixated on a certain contestant, Xu Feng.
'The Guild Leader wouldn't attempt to protest, right?' She became worried.
Although she had great trust in his capability, she seriously doubted Yaren was a reasonable type.
After all, the question was revealed to the audience as well, and she didn't find the response from those disqualified to be incorrect either.
In fact, she agreed with them, but from Yaren's perspective, the response was utter garbage.
"Just what is wrong with the conductor's mind?" She murmured, feeling perplexed by the Paradise Plains organization of the competition.
While Carmen contemplated the actions of the organizers, back at Section B, Yaren's cold expression finally changed.
"Oho, this contestant's response is quite something." She commented and turned her gaze to the specific contestant. "But aren't you somewhat naive to bootlick me in hopes of getting a passing grade?"
Although a few were confused, the spotlight that appeared out of nowhere quickly singled out the individual.
"Hahaha, there's someone actually trying to bootlick Elder Yaren?"
"These contestants really are ignorant to not know Elder Yaren's temperament."
"Hey, you can't blame them much either. To become a contestant for this particular competition, they must never have been to Paradise Plains before, so how could they know anything?"
"That's true, but I like this new rule. Now I can see others suffering harder."
These audiences were truly unruly, but Carmen wished to bash them even harder, vowing to teach those foul mouths a lesson.
As for the reason?
The contestant currently in the spotlight was none other than her guild leader, Xu Feng.
"Please don't act like you usually do, Guild Leader." Carmen prayed, her hands clasped together.
…
Section B
"Got anything to say, Contestant number 69, Lin Feng?" Yaren questioned, her expression somewhat eager. It was clear that depending on Xu Feng's answer, she was going to act in a certain manner.
"Do I need to explain my response?" Xu Feng responded with a question of his own.
"Oh, are you not going to deny you're bootlicking me with this response?" Amused, Yaren proceeded to repeat his response aloud.
"When a blacksmith uses two incompatible materials in a forging attempt, then they should look for Forger Yaren to salvage the problem."
".,."
The moment Yaren finished speaking, the section and audience became startled and stunned by the response.
Look for Forger Yaren to salvage a problem?
Wasn't that equivalent to asking the conductor of your test to do the problem for you?
Not to mention the other contestants, even Crimson Heart's mouth was agape as she stared at Xu Feng with a disbelief expression.
With all attention on him, Xu Feng remained rather calm and shrugged his shoulders.
"I don't see anything wrong with my response, conductor." He explained.
"A blacksmith that is inherently stupid enough to use two incompatible materials despite knowing they cannot be used meant two possible outcomes. One, they are untalented and don't know what they're doing. Or two, they wished to create new equipment while knowing the risk behind."
Yaren nodded her head. "Go on."
"Since we're in this level of competition, I doubt it's the first reason. Hence, the blacksmith wanted to create a new powerful piece of equipment that could change the world." Xu Feng smiled slyly.
And he continued, "If that was the case, then finding Forger Yaren to assist was the ideal solution. Conductor Yaren is an experienced forger, so with her presence, the chance of succeeding was magnified and she would be the world-renowned forger who had accomplished the impossible."
