Chapter 118: Chapter 118: Forever Fall
Chapter 118: Chapter 118: Forever Fall
[3rd POV]
Turns out Gwen was an absolute incredible artist....because of her characters. The art she made of each of the girls was...simply divine, probably literally. It had gotten tears from the girls when she handed them each of their paintings, and a very nice reward later that night.
She had started work on making one of team RWBY and JNPR, but decided to finish it up later the next day, after they visit forever fall. Forever Fall was a large forest that even Gwen had to admit was beautiful with bright red leaves filling the tree's of the entirety of the forest.
Said forest was also home to quite a bit of grimm, and even more than that, sap, which they were there for...for some reason. Why they had to collect sap, Gwen had no idea, besides that a professor wanted to study it, probably because it attracted ursa's.
Walking through the trees of the large forest, Gwen trailed behind Glynda, with the girls at her sides, looking around at the beauty of the place. It wasn't the best thing any of them had ever seen, but it was certainly up there with the most beautiful forests they've seen. Of course, this wasn't much to Gwen, not with the things her characters had seen. One of her personal favorites was a blackhole collapsing in on itself.
"Yes, students, the forest of forever fall is indeed beautiful. But we are not here today to sight see, Professor Peach has asked all of you to collect samples from the trees deep inside this forest. And I am here to make sure that none of you die while doing so" Glynda said, before turning and stopping, looking over the entire group of over a dozen students, more notably
Gwen.
"Each of you is to gather one jars worth of red sap. However, this forest is full of the creatures of grimm so be sure to stay by your teammates. We will rendezvous back here at 4 o'clock. Have fun!" Glynda said before walking off.
'This is going to be boring as all hell' Gwen thought with a sigh, knowing that this was about to be boring. Getting the sap was easy, and killing the grimm was just as easy, as there wasn't any strong grimm in the forest, and there wasn't going to be much happening, besides an ursa showing up eventually. An ursa that team JNPR would and should be taking care of, mostly for Jaune's own development.
It was boring, very very boring.
Walking with the girls, Gwen let out a small sigh of boredom as they collected more sap.
"Can you use this to make syrup?" Korra found herself asking, as they walked through the forest. They had collected quite a bit of sap, more than what Glynda had asked of them. This was mostly for Gwen, who wanted to study the difference in plant life on this planet, compared to the Avatar World and her own.
"...Probably? I'd have to taste it, but I'm sure I can. Maybe I'll make some pancakes with it? Would you girls like that?" Gwen asked the girls, looking at them. She didn't think of making syrup with the sap, but it wasn't a bad idea at all. She'd have to test it out first though, as she wasn't sure what it tasted like, and imagined it'd be different from any syrup she's had before.
"What do you think it tastes like?" Artemis asked, glancing at the sap in the bottle. At this question, Gwen glanced at the bottle before humming and popping it open. The girls watched with interest as she put a bit on her finger before tasting it.
"...Hmm, not bad. Kinda reminds me honey, weirdly enough. I think if I make it correctly, I can make some syrup that's better than any normal syrup with a hint of honey taste" Gwen said with a hum, as she imagined some foods she could make with it.
"Really? Can I try some?" M'gann asked with sparkles in her eyes, as she loved honey and syrup. They were some of her favorite ingredients to use when cooking.
"Sure" Gwen replied as M'gann scooped some onto her finger and licked it.
"Wow you're right! It's like honey! Just not as sweet. Do you think I could use this in some cookies?" M'gann asked.
"Matters what type, but I'm sure you can make some delicious cookies with it. You three can try some too if you want, it's actually pretty good for some tree sap" Gwen replied with a smile as they all began to try it.
"Huh, it actually is pretty good" Artemis muttered as she tasted it. It was basically just a less sweet honey and syrup mixture. Pretty good for just a sap.
"This is just sap? How good will the syrup be?" Korra whispered as she enjoyed the taste of the sap on her tongue.
"...It's good. Might be good in some tea" Raven muttered, causing Gwen to perk up slightly. "Good idea, Raven" Gwen said with a smile, as she didn't think of that. She was more of a coffee person herself, but Raven was a huge tea lover, as was M'gann. And making some better tea would be nice.
The group was cut off as the roar of an ursa rocked the forest, causing them all to look at eachother.
"Alright, let's go" Gwen said with a sigh, as the group moved from their spots in a burst of speed.
Reappearing a few minutes later to where the roar came from, the group stopped as the looked at teams JNPR and RWBY, both seemingly exhausted after a fight.
"You guys okay over here? We heard the roar of the ursa" Korra asked as she looked at the two teams.
"We're alright, Korra, just a little tired" Yang replied, waving off the girls worry. The ursa had been a strong foe, but nothing they couldn't handle. Plus it let Jaune get out of his pussy stage and stop letting himself get bullied by Cardin, who had ran off the second he saw Gwen, in fear of what the "faunus" would do to him.
"And have you all gotten your sap yet? It's pretty tasty" Gwen asked. Blinking at the mention of taste, they all looked at her oddly, realizing that she tasted the sap.
"You...ate the sap?" Weiss asked in confusion, Gwen nodded in response.
"Mmhmm, it's pretty good. I plan on making some syrup for pancakes with it" Gwen said, only to blink as Nora blurred in front of her with sparkles in her eyes.
"You make pancakes?! Can I have some!?" Nora asked, excited at the prospect of pancakes. While Ruby was a cookie monster, this girl was a pancake monster.
Looking at the shorter girl, Gwen shrugged "Sure, I'll make some for everyone, we could all have breakfast together and everything"
Stopping, Gwen looked at the time before noticing it was 3:55. Looking to them all as they all began to realize the time, and that they were about to be late, Gwen chuckled as they ran off, with her soon following, all the while thinking.
'What type of pancakes should I make?'
