75  Chapter 58 God of Iron-mouthed Predictions_2

Yan Fei hadn't expected this unmanned drone strike to earn him so many Merit Points. With a large number of US Army troops providing easy targets, the drone's Merit Points soared. Adding to the Merit Points he already had, his total reached an astonishing 1789 points, making the 10000-point threshold for the Drone Upgrade no longer seem that far away.

Yan Fei was very satisfied with his trip to Africa. Not only did he successfully obtain the rusty gear essential for the drone's upgrade, but he also garnered a wealth of Merit Points. More importantly, Yan Fei had found the woman of his dreams on this trip, reigniting the passion to pursue his love.

What bothered Yan Fei was that he hadn't seen Wen Rou for two days straight. When he asked Dr. Bob, who conducted his medical check-ups, he found out that due to a shortage of staff within their Doctors Without Borders organization, Wen Rou, as a nurse, had been helping out everywhere and therefore had no time to visit Yan Fei. After all, Yan Fei seemed to be in good health and there were other patients in greater need of assistance.

On the third day, Dr. Bob gave Yan Fei a thorough check-up, then told Yan Fei he wasn't infected with the Ebola Virus, and he could leave the quarantine zone.

It was only then that Yan Fei breathed a sigh of relief; not being infected with the Ebola virus meant his life was no longer in danger. Leaving the quarantine zone, he saw Wen Rou busily helping out in the makeshift hospital and felt a tinge of heartache, so he went up to help.

Yan Fei wasn't a professional, but he had strength to offer, which allowed him to assist with tasks the doctors and nurses couldn't manage. His involvement substantially reduced the workload for the medical staff.

Taking the opportunity of blending into the Doctors Without Borders to help, Yan Fei's interaction with Wen Rou increased. He used his abilities to keep Wen Rou cheerful, and he also showcased his extensive knowledge stored in the Auxiliary Brain, impressing Wen Rou with his breadth of knowledge. Since the Auxiliary Brain could provide answers at any moment, even the organization's doctors were amazed by his medical knowledge, calling him a medical genius, regretting only that he wasn't a real physician.

The knowledge Yan Fei displayed was collected from the internet, simply organized by the Auxiliary Brain; he did not show off the insights and deductions made by the Auxiliary Brain. Nonetheless, it was enough for Wen Rou to see him in a new light, bringing immense joy to Yan Fei.

A week later, the number of Ebola virus-infected patients discovered in the nearby area gradually decreased, and the infectious outbreak finally showed signs of subsiding. It was only then that Wen Rou got the chance to truly rest. Yan Fei didn't know how such a petite body could harbour so much strength, allowing her to persist until now. Yan Fei, being a man with a robust physique, felt somewhat exhausted himself, which made him admire the Doctors Without Borders even more.

That evening, as Yan Fei was pondering how to invite Wen Rou out to deepen their emotional exchange, Wen Rou called him out. It turned out there was a market nearby hosting a memorial festival that evening and they planned to have a celebration. Wen Rou, taking advantage of her break, wanted to visit the market to relax, so she invited Yan Fei to join her. n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

Yan Fei was thrilled. He quickly borrowed a car from the temporary hospital and drove Wen Rou towards the market.

By the time they got to the market, it was seven in the evening and the celebration hadn't yet begun. So, Yan Fei took Wen Rou to a restaurant in the market and enjoyed a dinner full of African flavor.

Tasting these exotic foods for the first time, Yan Fei was rather surprised, while Wen Rou explained them to him, allowing him to learn more about African customs and strengthening their bond in the process.

Looking at Wen Rou's adorable face, Yan Fei couldn't help but voice the question that had been on his mind, "Little Rou, you aren't married, are you?"

Wen Rou set down the fruit she was holding, looking surprised as she said, "I don't even have a boyfriend, how could I be married?"

Yan Fei was overjoyed. Under the table, his hand formed a triumphant fist gesture as he said, "Seeing you alone and without anyone contacting you, I just had to ask."

Wen Rou said, "This is Africa; not only is transport inconvenient, communication is also a big problem. My friends are all in the United States, and I can't get in touch with them right now."

Seeing that they had almost finished eating and the celebration had started outside, Yan Fei joined Wen Rou to participate in the festivities. The event was full of African charm, which offered them both a glimpse into the unique culture of the African continent and broadened their horizons.

Following the end of the celebration, the market officially opened, and Yan Fei along with Wen Rou began to stroll through it.

The market mostly sold local fruits and simple handicrafts. In addition to these, products from China were the most abundant. The array of Chinese goods and Chinese characters nearly made Yan Fei believe he had returned home, demonstrating how deeply Chinese culture had integrated into the African continent.

Some of the vendors, seeing Yan Fei and Wen Rou's Chinese faces, greeted them with broken "hellos." Wen Rou covered her mouth and laughed, and seeing her so happy, Yan Fei was pleased to spend some money at the small stalls to buy some local specialties.

The two enjoyed their time together, shopping happily. When they reached the outskirts of the market, they saw a lonely stall with an old man with white beard sitting in front of it, looking like a sage hermit. A sign in front of the stall written in simplified Chinese read, "Iron-clad prophecy, knowledge of the future, no charge if incorrect."

Now for an aside, this book has recently been targeted by professional critics. They've been lambasting the book since the beginning. Right from the first chapter, posts appeared saying the book was toxic, unbearable, and that they were dropping it! By chapter five, they were still posting that the content was too toxic, and they had been poisoned to death, and were dropping the book! By chapter ten, more posts claimed the author's writing was disgusting, and they were determined to abandon the book...

Yet right up to chapter fifty, they continued posting, slandering the protagonist as dim-witted and the author as a pervert, before adamantly dropping the book and prophesying that their posts would soon be deleted...

With such obvious attempts to lead the narrative, your identity as a professional critic has been fully revealed. Why would an author not delete your post unless he enjoys abuse? You're posting so much, with a word count that's nearly hit a thousand, and with such free time and typing skills, not to mention the numerous "toxic points" you've pointed out, why not write a book yourself instead of earning money this way in the middle of the night?

It's true that the author doesn't always update quickly, and maybe some content isn't everyone's cup of tea, but every chapter is diligently written, aiming for thrilling plots and logical coherence. At the very least, they're being careful about not having any typos, right? But it's still distressing to wake up every morning to see posts from these professional critics.

However, this also indicates something — that the book is quite popular and has threatened the position of some other works, or else professional critics wouldn't be emerging. This book is written for the enjoyment of readers who like it. For those who don't — the author is truly sorry, but could you please refrain from spewing criticism without having read through the book?

After typing in the early hours of the morning, I couldn't help but vent a bit. I hope everyone can forgive me! Thanks to your support, this book has received Pc-side Sci-Fi Strong Push recommendations and App Sci-Fi Strong Push recommendations this week. As always, if you like this book, regardless of which website you've encountered it on, please do come and collect it and recommend it on the Starting Point Chinese website Pc-side, thank you!
