Chapter 135: Chapter 0132: Sincerity
“Doctor Yang! Hello, I’m Huang Jiahui, we had coffee together once, at the Starbucks near the hospital.” She smiled warmly.
“Hello! Huang Jiacai’s younger sister?” Yang Ping remembered her now, no wonder she looked familiar.
“Aren’t you working at Tianji company?” Yang Ping recalled that she had given him some pamphlets on surgical robots.
“After graduation, I’ve worked in trauma, spine, joint, sports medicine appliances and surgical robot manufacturers. My brother suggested I familiarize myself with every aspect of orthopedic appliances, and then focus on a specific area. I’ve recently joined this sports medicine manufacturer–Ruixing. Even though I’ve only just started, this is what I’ve decided to dedicate my career to. I’m now in charge of business with Sanbo Hospital. Earlier, Professor Song informed us that tomorrow’s meniscus suture surgery will require our equipment. I brought you some information about Ruixing’s meniscus suture gun. We are a wholly domestic manufacturer, specialized in the field of sports medicine, and can supply a full range of sports medicine products, including consumables and instruments for knee and shoulder operations, among other things.”
She’d rehearsed this speech so many times that she blushed as the words came out.
Having finished speaking, Jiahui looked a little lost as she held out the product information with both hands.
“Hmm, I’ll take a look at the information. Say hi to your brother for me, have a seat!” Yang Ping said as he took the materials, sat down and began to flip through them.
“This suture gun is designed entirely based on principles of human engineering, making it very easy to operate. A single gun can suture a stitch, and it’s disposable, eliminating the need for repeated sterilization and reducing the risk of infection. Just pulling the trigger twice can complete one stitch, which is very fast and convenient. I brought a sample for you, Doctor Yang, have a look!” Huang Jiahui took out a sample from her bag to show to Yang Ping.
Yang Ping had done thorough research on their products, but seeing her enthusiasm, he didn’t want to disappoint her, so he sat down and listened carefully to her explanation.
“These built-in sutures were developed independently by us. Their strength is twice that of similar products on the market.” Huang Jiahui took out a woven suture from her bag and demonstrated by pulling it forcefully.
“Hmm, thank you for your explanation. The surgery will start at 8:30 tomorrow.” Yang Ping closed the materials.
Huang Jiahui was ecstatic, she felt that she had been acknowledged by Yang Ping, her face glowing with a blush: “If I may, can I scrub in tomorrow?”
“Alright! Come over tomorrow then.” Yang Ping didn’t have the heart to disappoint a girl who had just started out in the field.
“I’ll definitely be on time for the operation. Thank you, Doctor Yang, for this opportunity.” Jiahui said gratefully.
Agreeing to let her scrub in meant that he would use her products, which would give her a chance to get more affirmation in the future.
“You’ve received training on surgical room sterility, haven’t you?”
“The company provided specialized training!”
Yang Ping picked up his cell phone and dialed Su Yixuan, who was still on duty.
After the call, he said: “Go to the fifth-floor operating room and find Nurse Su. You’ll need to take a test on surgical room sterility. If you pass, you can register. Only then will you be allowed in the operating room tomorrow.”
“Okay, thank you!” Jiahui was excited.
Although Ruixing’s products were also chosen as potential suppliers along with a few others, among dozens of stockpiled items in the operating room, no one had used them yet. Truth be told, there is still a gap in product quality compared to international brands.
“Doctor Yang, what do you like for breakfast? I can bring it for you tomorrow.” Jiahui took advantage of the momentum.
Yang Ping found her a bit naive and cute, so he joked: “No need, thanks, I was quite satisfied with your product introduction just now. You should head home early, I’m about to finish work as well.”
“Doctor Yang, take care!” Jiahui bowed slightly as she saw him out.
After Yang Ping left, she clenched her fists and silently cheered, “Yes!”
Her performance was not bad, though a bit stiff due to nervousness. It would get better with time.
–
Before knocking off, Yang Ping went to the Overseas Chinese Building to see Mr. Ning. His open-mindedness surpassed his expectations, it might be an act to avoid worrying his daughter, or perhaps he really had an understanding of life and death.
Miss Ning had her head resting on the edge of the bed, her father’s hand in hers: “We’ve gotten news. Uncle Nong is rushing over to confirm.”
“This is his picture!” Miss Ning took out her phone and showed the photo.
Mr. Ning’s trembling hands took the phone, staring at the photo for a long time as tears fell unconsciously.
“He’s lost weight –” he said after a while.
“Where did they find him?” Mr. Ning asked, regaining his composure.
Miss Ning tenderly wiped away her father’s tears with a tissue: “In Vancouver, Canada. He was performing at a bar there.”n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
“Hmm, good that they found him. I need to go. You must take good care of your younger brother. Your dad knows you’re sensible. You’ve had a tough time these past years.” Mr. Ning patted his daughter’s head.
When they heard Yang Ping knock on the door, they immediately ended their conversation.
“Please come in!”
Miss Ning greeted him with a smile as she stood up: “Doctor Yang, hello!”
“Mr. Ning, are you feeling okay?” Yang Ping asked, standing at the bedside, noting that he looked fine.
Mr. Ning smiled: “I don’t feel any pain in my chest at all, I’m very grateful. There is a little pain in the liver area, but it’s bearable. Doctor Yang, haven’t you finished work yet?”
“I’m about to finish. Before leaving, I thought I’d come over and have a look. Please turn on your side, I need to check the catheter.” Yang Ping approached the bedside.
Miss Ning helped her father turn onto his side, while Yang Ping took a pair of gloves from the bedside cabinet and put them on.
After a careful check, he found the catheter was in the correct position and had not come out.
After finishing the check, Yang Ping removed his gloves and threw them into the yellow wastebasket.
