Chapter 200 Tell
Kaito's tell seemed like something simple to identify, but in reality, without the system, it would have been nearly impossible to notice it as quickly as Shun did. After all, besides the Arena's Review Mode, Shun had his quirk Learning Master, which enhanced his analytical abilities, as well as significantly improved mental stats thanks to the elixirs he had earned.
Since Shun had already accomplished what he needed in the training center, he quickly exited the arena. After all, he needed time to explain the tell he had discovered to his teammates. Shun then "woke up" in his seat on Shoto's bus. He sat up quickly, his mind slightly fatigued from using the Arena's Review Mode, but his excitement remained unaffected. After all, he had just uncovered something that could turn a tough match against an elite school into little more than a batting practice session.
Shun grabbed his phone, and the first thing he noticed was a message from his mother congratulating him on the victory in their first game. She also mentioned that she and his father would return to the stadium with Yumi later to watch his game against Seiryu. Additionally, Shun saw a message from Shimizu, who had sent him a video file without any accompanying text. Shun opened the file and saw it was the game between Tsubasa and Seiryu, but for obvious reasons, he no longer needed to watch it.
He glanced at the time on his phone and noticed it was almost the scheduled lunch break with Coach Yamada. Most likely, the last game of the first round was already underway. Shun was a bit surprised, he hadn't realized he had spent so much time in the training center. But considering how focused he was during the Review Mode session, he understood why.
As Shun walked a few steps, he noticed a boy with a samurai bun sleeping soundly on one of the bus seats. Ren was snoring comfortably. Shun smirked mischievously as he stared at Ren sprawled across the seat.
"HAAAAA!" - Shun shouted loudly while pulling the young samurai's foot.
"AHHHHHHHHH!" - Ren woke up in a panic, screaming. He instinctively curled his legs, trying to avoid whatever monster had grabbed his foot. Only after seeing Shun grinning at him did he realize what had happened.
"Hahahaha!" - Shun burst out laughing, clutching his stomach as he watched the startled reaction of the young samurai.
"Y-You!" - Ren pointed at Shun, his voice full of irritation, but at that moment, he didn't have the energy to get up. Ren felt a deep sadness well up inside him, tears beginning to form in his eyes as he looked at Shun.
"Hey, man, I'm sorry..." - Shun was at a loss for what to do when he saw tears streaming down the young samurai's face. Shun didn't understand why anyone would react like that after being woken up, but the only thing he could do was apologize to his friend.
"You're a cruel person." - Ren muttered softly, still crying. The young samurai was in a deep emotional slump. After having his earlier erotic dream interrupted by Kenta that morning, Ren had miraculously managed to have another erotic dream during this nap on the bus. Unfortunately, just as fate had cruelly rewarded him, Shun had woken him up at the best part of his dream yet again. Ren couldn't help but wonder, in the midst of his despair, how unfair life could be.
Shun looked at his friend with genuine regret as Ren cried miserably. Shun had no idea why, but he could feel the samurai's sorrow, and it made him feel guilty. Of course, if Shun actually knew why Ren considered him cruel, he would likely have tackled Ren to the ground and beaten him up for making him feel so guilty over something so ridiculous.
After a few minutes, Ren finally composed himself, and the two friends started walking back to the stadium stands to rejoin the rest of the Shoto team. As Shun climbed the stairs and saw his teammates, he was a bit surprised. The last game of the first round was in progress, but only Shimizu was watching the field. Everyone else was glued to their phones, including Coach Yamada.
Shun approached Kenta, the teammate closest to him, and curiously glanced at his phone. When he saw that Kenta was watching the video of the game between Tsubasa and Seiryu, Shun smiled. A quick look around confirmed that all his teammates, even the reserve players, were watching the video on their phones. This dedication made Shun smile sincerely.
"Huh? Hey Shun, Ren! I already sent the video of the game to your phones. Did you watch it?" - Shimizu was the first to notice the two boys and asked cheerfully. When she spoke, everyone else turned toward Shun and Ren as well.
"Haha, I did. Thanks, Shimizu!" - Shun replied with a grin.
"Huh? Video?" - Ren, still distracted by the loss of his second consecutive erotic dream, hadn't even checked his phone yet.
"How was Hokuto's game?" - Shun ignored Ren's comment and asked curiously.
"Quick. They won in five innings, 14-0." - Kenta said in a serious tone. Clearly, Hokuto's performance had been impressive. Since Shun could review the recording of the game later, he didn't ask for more details. After all, their focus now was on facing an elite school in just a few hours. Experience new tales on empire
"Well, I watched the video Shimizu sent. I noticed it during the game, but the video confirmed it, Seiryu's ace is tipping his pitches." - Shun got straight to the point, speaking calmly. Since he couldn't mention the training center, the video from Shimizu served as a perfect excuse.
"What?!" - All the seated players reacted in unison. Even Ren, who had been lamenting his lost dream, looked at Shun in shock. Coach Yamada also turned to Shun, surprised, but the man couldn't hide his smile. Shun never ceased to impress him.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
Shun observed his friends' surprised reactions with a smile before beginning to explain in detail the tell he had discovered about Seiryu's ace.
