Transmigrating as an Extra Third-Rate Villain

Chapter 303The Seal [4]

As Zach continued his summary, Ren glanced at Kazuki, who was also looking at Ren at that very moment.

Making eye contact with the spear-using recruiter, Ren simply nodded his head, acknowledging his presence.

Right now, he was not in a position to disagree with Kazuki's plan, even if it was so obvious, as he didn't even have another plan to suggest.

As Kazuki nodded his head in return, the main cast, Astrid, and Ren's teammates awkwardly stood as Zach continued his summary of our discussion.

After a couple of seconds, Zach finally ceased talking, and Lily nodded her head before turning to Kazuki.

"Distance does indeed affect the power of the seal."

Seeming like he already knew that information, Kazuki simply nodded his head before returning his attention to the magical artifact-filled shelves.

Shrugging his shoulders, Kazuki once again asked.

"So, everybody is in agreement with my plan?"

If someone disagreed with Kazuki's plan, they would have to suggest another plan in turn, so everybody just nodded their heads.

Ren doubted that moving the magical artifacts out of the vault and into the underground space would weaken the seal to the point where it would just break, so there wasn't any worry about the mystical beast inside breaking out.

That was proved by Lily's non-disagreement with the plan.

If she believed that the beast would break out if we moved the artifacts, she would definitely disagree with Kauzki's plan.

However, the concern was that since the seal was weakened, the intruder would be able to break through much easier.

Destroying the foundation of the seal, or in this case, the magical artifacts that powered it, was the most straightforward way to break through a seal.

However, brute force with mass destruction and immense power were also possibilities.

With the magical artifacts so close and in such high quantity and the lack of actions by the intruder, Ren started to ponder as to if the intruder could currently brute-force through the seal.

Considering the intruder's power to be completely noticed and essentially omnipotent in the vault and underground space, Ren believed that the intruder could still brute force the seal, but it would take a huge amount of time.

After all, this seal had been designed by the one and only principal, so she knew very well the type of people who would try to free a mystical beast.

In the first place, if you wanted to free a monster capable of mass destruction, you would also have to be quite powerful yourself, as you would have to escape the beast yourself.

Unless you were suicidal and wanted to die with everyone else in the beast.

So, the seal was by no means lacking currently.

But, if the distance between the magical artifacts increased, brute-forcing would be much easier.

Glancing at Kazuki, who was already walking up to a shelve, Ren muttered.

"Is that his plan?"

Was he trying to lure the intruder out and entice him with the weakened seal?

Of course, Ren couldn't confirm this, as if he asked Kazuki out loud, and the intruder would just hear him and not fall for the bait.

It was a peculiar situation.

The plan was so stupid that it couldn't work...unless it somehow did.

Standing in front of a shelf with magical artifacts, Kazuki turned around before saying.

"Kaneki and I will take the northeast, the reinforcements from the principal will take the southeast, and the rest of you split up to take the northwest or northeast."

After pointing in all the various directions, Kazuki simply signaled for Kaneki to follow him before walking to his designated corner of the room.

"..."

Sighing, I looked away from Kazuki before turning to face Zeng, who was still attached to Zach.

Waving my hand, I tried to gesture for Zeng to follow, but he didn't see the signal as he was engrossed in a conversation with Zach.

Sighing, I attempted to think of a way to formally call him out before finally saying.

"Zeng, it's about time we complete our task so this plan can be successful."Nôv(el)B\\jnn

Finally turning away from Zach, Zeng paused for a second before pointing at the rest of the main cast.

"Why don't you take one of them, boss? Trust me, the two of us will get our work done faster if we do it together!"

Nodding his head in unison, Zach paused for a moment before turning to Ruby, who was next to him.

"Ruby, do you mind swapping places with Zeng here and helping them?"

Glancing around at her teammates, Ruby seemed to mutter something to Irene before finally turning around.

Clearly not satisfied, Irene crossed her arms and angrily watched as Ruby stepped forward and said.

"Sure, Zach."

However, just as Ruby finished her sentence, Astrid said with a nervous expression.

"I'll also join Ruby to make teams fair..."

Turning to the side, Astrid whispered to the rest of the main cast in a quiet voice.

"in case anything happens, Ruby won't be alone as well."

Lily, honestly not caring, simply nodded her head before turning around and leading Alya and Irene to their corner.

On the other hand, Liam remained silent for a second before intensly staring at Raven and Ren.

After a couple of seconds, he simply nodded his head before leading Zeng, Zach, and Kevin to their corner.

Turning around, I took a deep breath in before staring at Raven, who had a wide smirk plastered all over his face.

Walking up to me, Raven extended his hand and tapped my shoulder before whispering.

"So, boss, it seems you're in quite a precarious situation. Both girls that you've talked to even and even invited over before. Which o-"

Cutting Raven off mid-sentence, Ren muttered before pinching Raven.

"Tread carefully."

As Raven and Ren bickered, Astrid glanced at Ruby before walking forward toward the two boys.

She had to find out how the boy knew the lyrics to her song, and what better chance was right now.

Following Astrid, Ruby headed towards Ren and Raven, who were already walking towards their corner.

As the four arrived at their designated corner, Ren cleared his throat before saying.

" *ahem* My teammate and I will take c-"

However, before Ren could finish his sentence, Astrid suddenly pointed at Raven before saying.

"If we're going to be working together, we'll need to work and bond as a team to trust each other. Splitting up right now isn't going to do anything."

Pretending to think for a moment, Astrid shrugged her shoulders before saying.

"I'll work with the shorter one, and Ruby can work with you. This will also help ease the tension for one, as we inevitably get in a battle and have to work together to fight against the intruder."

Not giving anyone else a chance to speak up or react, Astrid walked over to one of the shelves and began collecting the artifacts, starting from the top and working her way down.

Glancing at Ren, Raven smiled as if saying, "Looks like someone already made the choice for you, boss!"

Nodding his head, Ren waved Raven away and sent him to Astrid's shelf to help with gathering the artifacts.

Staring at Ruby, who had a completely plain expression, Ren tried his best to keep a straight face as he extended his hand and said.

"My name is Hiro...I hope we can work together efficiently to protect this vault from being robbed!"

Back on Earth, Ren's name was given to him by his mother as Hiro, which symbolizes both generosity and abundance.

Although...Ren was glad he had forsaken that name now.

He wasn't the most generous person in the world...

Brushing a strand of her jet-black hair off his ears, Ruby tilted her head before also extending her hand.

"Hiro? Damn...I thought your name would be something like 'Reng' or 'Reven' or 'Riam' or 'Reby' "

Disguising his laugh as a cough, Ren smiled and sarcastically replied.

" Riam? Really?"

Nodding her head with a plain expression, Ruby grasped Ren's extended palm before shaking it up and down.

Glancing around, Ren ensured that everybody else was focused on their task before turning around and finding a shelf.

Following Ren's lead, Ruby stood side-by-side with Ren before picking up a magical artifact and placing it behind her.

Shrugging her shoulders, she whispered as Ren also picked up an artifact.

"Really, all these magical artifacts, and you came back empty-handed!?"

"...the guilt got to me. You know, I have mo-"

"You were afraid of releasing whatever is in that vault, no?"

Pausing for a moment, Ren pointed to the wall where the seal was located before carefully asking.

"You know I lied when I said there was a button in there from the start, didn't you?"

Sighing, Ruby put down another magical artifact before replying in a disappointed voice.

"I can see desires, even through walls, you know. Whatever thing in there and behind the seal has a pretty strong desire... to kill us all."

"...I guess negotiating with it won't work."
