Chapter 1130: Section 1131: Collapse

Lassudral seemed to be weeping softly.

Angel was taken aback by Canaan’s reply. He didn’t understand Canaan’s meaning, but he could sense a tinge of sadness in Canaan’s words.

Fafnir, however, seemed to remember something after Canaan finished speaking. She looked deeply at the distant Void Tower and slowly said, “It’s a warning, Lassudral is issuing a warning.”

Why issue a warning? And what was the content of the warning? Fafnir didn’t know. But she could feel that something must have happened to the Void Tower, and this event might even cause a major transformation in Lassudral!

Only then would it actively create tumultuous weather to issue a warning.

Not only did Canaan sense the sad atmosphere surrounding Lassudral, but all the demons living in Lassudral were also covered by an unprecedented sadness at this moment.

These demons, because of their long existence within Lassudral, had become spiritually and vibrationally attuned to it, and thus, they sensed the changes in Lassudral.

Amid this melancholic atmosphere, most demons were at a loss.

Only a very few powerful ones could sense that the source of it all…

At that moment, Yadasai was making its way through the dark underground passages. Suddenly, its rushing figure paused, and it looked up, puzzled.

It too felt the sorrow enveloping all of Lassudral, and, perhaps even more acutely than the other demons, this sorrow seemed more intense as if Lassudral had developed a will, urging it to do something.

Yadasai quickly realized this and thought deeply, yet its eyes became dark and obscured.

Lassudral couldn’t possibly develop consciousness, so all this so-called atmosphere of sadness must be the work of something else.

Yadasai closed its eyes, and within its spiritual sense, countless patterns of light were floating around. As these patterns passed by Yadasai, they seemed to tremble, as if trying to synchronize with Yadasai’s heartbeat.

And these patterns densely filled the dark hallway.

Yadasai recognized these patterns; they were Inscriptions that spread throughout Lassudral. Normally, it could feel the patterns, but they did not affect it. However, now they were actively vibrating, and this trembling seemed to be pleading with Yadasai for help.

“Inscriptions wouldn’t change without reason…” the thought that rose in Yadasai’s mind filled it with terror, “Could it be that someone has dared to tamper with the Inscriptive Central Hub?!”

Yadasai and Nitotipu were rushing to the Shadow Mist Area not just to deal with the breach of the underground chamber but also worried that if the chamber’s seal was broken, the Hub within it might also be compromised.

If the Hub had an accident, it would affect all Inscriptions, which were spread throughout Lassudral!

So, this pervasive atmosphere of sadness was the Inscriptions warning and… asking for help!

With this realization, Yadasai’s speed increased even more. It had to reach the underground chamber before the Hub was compromised and tear the audacious bastard who dared to challenge Lassudral’s order to pieces!

The exit of the dark pathway was an inconspicuous compartment on the first floor of the Void Tower.

Yadasai emerged from the compartment into a pitch-black corridor.

It swiftly traversed the corridor. Suddenly, Yadasai saw a long, black mark on the floor tiles, stretching down the length of the corridor without an end in sight.

There was a faint burnt smell coming from the black mark, clearly a trace left by fire.

The floor tiles of the Void Tower were made of precious materials resistant to damage, and if a mark was left, that fire was no ordinary flame! It could even be comparable to the Infernal Fire controlled by Komodo!

This mark was fresh, likely left not long ago.

And at this time, Komodo should still be in the Demon Blood Pool, so Jupiter, that big oaf, would not be using such a special flame, which means… there must be an uninvited guest who has intruded into the Void Tower!

This intruder was very likely the cause of all trouble.

Cold and malevolent light flashed in Yadasai’s eyes, its speed undiminished and even faster, soon arriving at the underground chamber’s door.

At this point, the door was sealed shut, but there was a clear hole in the middle of it.

Looking at this hole, Yadasai could almost picture the scene: Jupiter emitting its distinct weird silly laughter, then swinging its disc-like fat fists and smashing them repeatedly on the door.

The seals of the underground chamber could not be opened by anyone, except for the seven Chief Demons.

And this door was the seal to the underground chamber!

“Jupiter, you’d better not let me find out that you’ve become the damn scoundrel’s henchman,” Yadasai growled through clenched teeth.

It had no time to delve deeper now and, cursing under its breath, shrank its body and turned into a streak of black light that entered the underground stairway.

When Yadasai arrived in the underground hall, it first saw the “Starveling”—the Gluttonous Demon—not far away.

“Jupiter? How did you turn into this?”

Jupiter, in its true form, was actually a Gluttonous Demon. Even though the Gluttonous Demon had now become skin and bones, Yadasai still recognized it immediately.

At this moment, Jupiter was unconscious and unable to answer Yadasai’s questions.

As for why it had broken the seal of the basement, it remained a mystery. However, Yadasai could roughly guess the reason… Jupiter had no interest in anything else. As a Gluttonous Demon, its only interest was in eating, and the tastier the food, the happier it would be.

Furthermore, Jupiter would even do crazy things for the sake of eating. Once, Jupiter heard a rumor somewhere that a certain demon’s tail was very delicious when roasted. It tried it and seemed to really like the taste, so it slaughtered that entire demon tribe. After massacring those on the surface, it went on to hunt down those in the deeper layers.

Demons do kill each other, but never for such a “simple” reason like Jupiter’s.

So, that Jupiter had broken the seal to the basement, Yadasai reckoned it must have fallen for some false information again.

And the one who spread this false information… Yadasai’s gaze slowly drifted, finally resting on the other side of the central statue where a massive, alien figure stood.

“It’s you, you lured Jupiter to break the seal of the basement?” Yadasai approached step by step, his eyes fierce, his words filled with suppressed rage, “Tell me, who are you?”

Previously, Yadasai had thought it was cunning humans who had tempted Jupiter, but seeing the massive figure, it clearly was not human.

The closer he got to the statue, the more cautious Yadasai became.

Because as soon as he entered the underground hall, with his Spiritual Sense, he felt the convergence point of the light patterns—the Inscriptive Central Hub. The enormous figure was standing right in front of the hub, extending its hand, slowly moving closer to it.

That’s why he did not immediately confront the figure physically; he feared that enraging it might make it press down without a second thought.

His questioning was also an attempt to divert the figure’s attention. If it even slightly turned its head, got distracted for a moment, that would be the chance to deal with it!

However, Yadasai’s questioning had no effect; the alien figure simply ignored him.

In the quiet space of the underground hall, the only sound was green viscous liquid dripping from the alien’s body.

Popota had heard footsteps above his head quite early on, knowing that a great demon must have returned. However, even with that knowledge, he did not care.

Gaining strength from the flesh and blood absorbed by the chains, Popota had become extremely powerful.

Even Yadasai had to admit that Popota’s strength had indeed become formidable.

No one could imagine that Popota, not long ago, was just a weak Wizard Apprentice. Even if it were said to Yadasai now, he probably would not believe it.

What kind of pot holds what amount of water.

Using a cliché analogy: if strength is likened to water and the Magical Core to a container, the difference between a Wizard Apprentice and an Official Wizard is like that between a cup and a pot. If one does not take the proper path and forcibly expands the cup into a pot, then the walls of the pot will inevitably crack. What’s more, the cup is not just being expanded into a pot, but directly into a water tower, and it all happened in a short span of time.

Essentially, this is impossible.

To make it possible, total collapse is the only way.Nôv(el)B\\jnn

Popota managed it with the help of that entity behind the chains. But at the same time, although Popota got stronger, he also suffered the consequences of collapse.

This kind of collapse was currently only happening mentally, causing Popota to gradually lose his former absolute rationality.

It was this transformation that made Popota not consider too much about Yadasai’s arrival. His mind had not changed at all, his goal remained the same: to press down.

Therefore, Yadasai’s various probes and questions were useless to Popota.

Popota seemed to be simply pressing down his hand, but the process was quite complex. Despite no one obstructing him, the entire light pattern was trembling, exerting influence on Popota. That’s why his speed kept slowing down.

But even so, Popota’s hand steadily moved closer to the position of the Central Hub.

Seeing Popota’s hand almost touching the protruding stone, Yadasai knew he could no longer wait for the other to be distracted—he had to take action himself!

But just as Yadasai was about to make his move, there was a new twist in the underground hall.

The closer Popota got to the Central Hub, the more intense the frequency of the light patterns became. However, when the light patterns realized they could not influence Popota’s will no matter what, they gave up stopping Popota!

But after this change, Popota did not feel relieved because hidden mechanisms in the underground hall were activated.

As a thunderous rumbling sound echoed, the statues in the hall suddenly came to life.

The original form of the statue was coiled up and enveloped by a pair of black wings, concealing its true shape.

But now, the black wings slowly opened, gradually unveiling the true form they had been concealing.
