CH.554 Deck Master Tournament, part 9
CH.554 Deck Master Tournament, part 9
With the tournament over, it was time for the award ceremony.
So I gathered the top four and handed each of them their custom trophy. Starting with the two third place winners. Yes, both of them get a trophy, because I can.
Mariina’s bronze trophy depicted her with some Ancient Gears standing around and behind her. It naturally had Cannon, her deck master, but it also had Ancient Gear Golem, Ancient Gear Beast, Ancient Gear Gadjiltron Dragon and Ultimate Ancient Gear Golem. The Mariina on the trophy was also holding the Power Bond handle, just because she used that spell a lot.
Damian’s trophy was also bronze and it naturally had him and a bunch of Elemental Heroes with him. I had to include the vanillas, Avian, Burstinatrix, Clayman and Sparkman. Then I added in the fusions of the four. Well, specifically Flame Wingman and Thunder Giant. And let’s not forget his deck master, Stratos.
I think you can guess what Maiko got. She got a silver trophy with herself and the seven Fortune Ladies. For hers, I also added some tiny attributed magic stones to give each of the Fortune Ladies more color.
Oh, by the way. These trophies were made using HomeBase. I designed them yesterday evening when I knew who the finalists were going to be. Then I just swapped the material to either gold or silver depending on who won the finals, and added tiny bits of extra detail before producing them.
But now to Indigo. She got the gold trophy with herself depicted on it. By her side was her trusty Test Tiger. On her other side was Test Tiger’s favorite partner in crime, Gladiator Beast Murmillo.
Behind them was the second line of Gladiator Beasts. Laquari, Bestiari, Octavius, Darius and Hoplomus.
And behind them were three of the fusions. Gyzarus, Heraklinos and Gaiodiaz.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
It was quite the trophy, if I do say so myself.
There was also a trophy for winning against me, but Indigo didn’t, so I got to keep it.
That one depicted the three Vennomi monsters, Vennominon the King of Poisonous Snakes, Vennominaga the Deity of Poisonous Snakes and Vennominagant the Saintess of Poisonous Snakes.
Naturally, as the winner, Indigo got the additional reward of a Card Summoner skill orb, as well as some cards. Naturally I gave her a few Gladiator Beast monsters. They are perfect for her, since she is already used to them.
I also promised to make her a custom duel disk later.
But now that I’ve given the awards, to something Indigo spoke about with me last evening.
Last evening, as I was in my office designing the trophies, Chamber Dragonmaid, aka. Stern, brought Indigo there as she wanted to discuss something.
At first I assumed she wanted to ask something about the tournament, like maybe I could give her some sort of an advantage to the finals, but luckily she wasn’t looking to cheat.
Instead, she asked if the Card Summoners would be willing to accept a clan partnership with the Wild Pack.
Clan partnerships aren’t common at all. Mainly because they can be seen as degrading, and clans in them can get looked down upon. Like, ‘look at those guys. They can’t even do it without help’. That kind of thing.
But in actuality, they are really useful. It allows for reliable equipment and information sharing, with no worries about the other clan stealing stuff from the other. Well, there is some worry, but it can get bad for the clan that is trying to abuse the other clan, and quickly.
So as Indigo asked for that, I promised to consider it. So I talked about it that night with my girls, mainly Lua and Alice as they were the founding members of Card Summoner with me.
They agreed that it wouldn’t be a bad thing. The only problem might be a leak in secret information kept by HomeBase.
But Lua was able to reassure me that there most likely wouldn’t be an information leak. Mostly because she has been leveling up the dhampir students, and despite the hundreds of students who have passed through HomeBase, and not a single one of them having a card like Mind Crush installed onto them, no one had spilled the info.
And the reason for that is Lua’s unique skill, and specifically Dhampir Order. When she orders a dhampir, they want to follow her order. So if she orders them to keep quiet, they will.
And this brings us to me and my skill, Alpha. Alpha works a lot like Dhampir Order, but with Beast-folk and Beast-kin. Sure it isn’t as reliable, as Dhampir Order is a part of a unique skill and Alpha is just a racial skill, but it still works. So with that, we should be able to share Level Ups and even Rank Ups with the Wild Pack, really boosting their power.
And in return, we get access to a clan full of combat capable people and monsters. That is quite the deal and it saves me from having to train everyone.
So when Indigo, still standing on the podium, asked me about the partnership publicly, I told her that the Card Summoners would love to enter a clan partnership with the Wild Pack. And to prove it, I had a special item I was giving Indigo.
It was something I technically shouldn’t have yet, but a bit of talking with a System Agent and they were willing to let me have it beforehand.
As what I had in my Storage was a skill orb. For a skill that hasn’t been released yet. But it will be. Right now.
So as I got ready to hand over the skill orb, I generated some Magical Arms. I then brought out the Magical Arms skill orb, holding it in one of the magical arms. Just in time for the System Message to pop up.
System Announcement |
The skill suggestion of System Support Holder Brian Wood has been accepted and implemented. |
New skills: Magical Arms has been added to the System. |
You are shown this announcement as you qualify for the skill, and it has been added to your status. |
I then opened the announcement for everyone to see, but based on the reactions of some of the audience members, at least a few of them already got it.
I then handed the skill orb to Indigo, asking her to use it. She did as asked, and soon enough she figured out how to generate Magical Arms. Her control over them was definitely still amateur, but she’ll get better. So we shook our magical hands to confirm the clan partnership between Card Summoners and the Wild Pack.
With Magical Arms having been introduced as a new skill, I told the people present about it. I told them how I made it with the Angels, and so on. I didn’t introduce the angels (System Agents) to them, because while I had footage of them in the Factory, I’m not sure if I’m allowed to share that.
So I just didn’t. I’ll ask the System Agents before I hold the Turbo Duel tournament, since that will be held in the Factory. Maybe some System Agents can take some time off to come watch.
But I guess I’ll show you my status now, so you can see the new skill in there.

So yeah. Magical Arms is an extra skill, just like Telekinesis. And apparently I’m good enough with it that I got it at level 6. Feels a bit low, in my opinion, but whatever. I think it should be 8 or maybe even 9, but I can always level it up myself.
But that is the end of the Deck Master tournament. And an introduction of a new skill. And our clan partnership with the Wild Pack.
It really was an eventful day.
