Global Awakening: Apocalypse Ender's Chronicle

Chapter 376 14th Memory Sphere

Despite Shane's identity as a human being revealed, the leader of the Elves decided not to pursue this matter.

Since they were being assisted, the matter regarding his identity could be discussed once the problem in front of them was dealt with…

After all, they also felt inspired by Shane's bravery as he fought against the Blood Knight… Soon, the elves joined the fray as their arrows and spells targeted the Blood Knight.

The battle was intense as Shane pushed himself to his limits. In this battle, he showed incredible battle techniques, and he couldn't help but hope that he could achieve this level of strength in this Zombie Apocalypse world.

'So I have such an outstanding combat style if cornered…' Shane thought to himself as he hoped that he would reach this level as well. However, he could tell that Shane, in his memory, had several magical passive skills as a Magic Swordsman.

Anyway, as he continued to sift through the memories, he confirmed that he was still the one who killed the Blood Knight and got the last hit reward.

In the end, piercing the Blood Knight's heart was the most vulnerable part of the Vampire. It seemed to be the only method of killing this Vampire...

Furthermore, after it let out a roar and collapsed to the ground, it didn't turn into ash. Instead, its body remained on the ground, waiting to be looted.

Breathing heavily, Shane looked around at the Elves, who were staring at him with mixed emotions...

He knew he couldn't stay long since the Elves would probably turn on him.

However, what he didn't expect was how they sheathed their weapons.

"Thank you," one of the Elves said and stepped forward. "You saved us."

From this interaction, Shane realized that it was the start of changes in the Fairy Realm Invasion Apocalypse.

According to the memories, he then lived together with the Elves, learned more about their culture, and even befriended some Trolls and Orcs in the process.

[ Memory Sphere absorption complete. ]

[ You have obtained Part 13 of 25 Memory Fragments. ]

[ You have learned a Survivor Skill: Language Mastery ]

[ You have learned a Survivor Skill: Sword Mastery ]n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

[ Language Mastery Lv10 ( Max ): This skill enables the Survivor to speak and understand not only human dialects but also the intricate languages of non-human beings such as elves, orcs, goblins, and others. Additionally, the Survivor has a chance to persuade or intimidate non-human creatures as the skill level increases. ]

[ Sword Mastery Lv10 ( Max ): The Survivor has mastered the art of swordsmanship and possesses supreme skill with bladed weapons. This Mastery allows the Survivor to perform advanced techniques such as parries, counters, and combo attacks, increasing overall damage output. ]

These two passive skills were certainly a great help for Shane, and he really liked them. However, he realized that the 13th Memory Sphere doesn't include information related to the A.I. Rebellion. Previously, a single Memory Sphere would contain both parts of the Apocalypse.

"Maybe the 14th would contain memories from A.I. Rebellion only." Shane muttered to himself as he decided to absorb the next Memory Sphere.

[ Do you wish to absorb the Memory Sphere? ]

"Yes…" Shane replied without hesitation.

After this, the Sphere glowed and dissipated. Only its light entered his body.

Shane then took a deep breath and focused, allowing the memories to flood his mind.

This time, the memories were from the A.I. Rebellion Apocalypse…

'As expected… Each Memory Sphere this time was focused on one Apocalypse.' Shane muttered to himself.

Anyway, he actually liked this Apocalypse a lot since the existence of incredible Artificial Intelligence that could rebel means that human technology had already advanced a lot.

Perhaps there would be a lot of people who would get scared to choose this Apocalypse, scared by the thought of having robots everywhere. But if they think about it, it was truly a lot better than the Zombie Apocalypse, where you could die once scratched or bitten by a Zombie. Here, with the advancement of science, even losing a limb or two could be easily remedied.

Getting scratched or bitten by a robot would just hurt and could be healed.

This was the reason why he chose it first without hesitation. With a high-tech world where an A.I. could take over a world, there should also be high-tech medicine, high-tech combat style, and others.

Anyway, what truly stood out about this world was that humans, or survivors like him, could rely on Genetic Engineering to enhance their abilities. They could just consume geno solutions to improve their physique and learn various skills through mutations.

Anyway, the memory he absorbed showed a desolate landscape, but the sky was darkened by the constant presence of surveillance drones.

In this memory, he was on a mission to enter a ruin.

To be exact, it was the ruins of a once-great city. Currently, it lay across the horizon and was overrun by machines collecting metals that could still be recycled.

Shane moved cautiously as he passed through the wreckage. Thankfully, just like how he has Magic Swordsman and Complete Loot Talent in the Fairy Realm invasion, he also had Traceless and Otherworldly Mechanic Talent in this A.I. Rebellion. Furthermore, his senses were heightened by the geno solutions he had consumed.

Apparently, he had heard rumors of an ancient spaceship buried deep within the ruins, a relic from humanity's past.

To be exact, it was a thirteenth-generation spaceship and it was said to contain advanced technology and powerful geno solutions that could be used by someone like him... Determined to find it, Shane spent weeks in this treacherous terrain just to avoid the patrols of A.I. androids and automated sentries.

After days of searching, Shane finally stumbled upon the underground entrance leading to the spaceship. No A.I. androids were present in this place at all. It was completely cut off from outside connections and perhaps, it was done deliberately by the government who had realized that the A.I. would soon start to revolt.

In any case, the situation here wasn't good.

The massive structure was already partially buried under rubble, and its once-sleek exterior was now corroded and damaged. He carefully made his way inside the airship with the air thick with dust.

The interior of the spaceship had long winding corridors and filled with various chambers. Each one filled with remnants of the previous era.

Shane moved silently as his eyes scanned for any signs of the geno solutions he sought. As he ventured deeper, he came across a sealed chamber, its door marked with the emblem of the thirteenth generation.

'This is it…'

Using his enhanced strength, Shane pried the door open and stepped inside. The chamber was dark, but with his tools, it was soon filled with light… He could now see rows of storage units lining the walls.

"I'm rich…" Shane muttered in excitement.

Then, in the center of the room, a pedestal held a small, crystalline vial filled with a glowing liquid. Shane's heart raced as he realized he had found the Geno Solution he had been looking for!

He approached the pedestal and carefully picked up the vial.

"This is it…"

The liquid inside had a faint light, and he could feel its power resonating through the glass. Next to the vial, he noticed a small, intricately designed box. Opening it, he found a Memory Crystal, its surface was also etched with ancient symbols.

He was very familiar with this since these crystals were basically similar to computer storage drives. The Memory Crystal, however, wouldn't just work for machines but also for humans with specific genetic mutations.

Shane obviously had this mutation in the 'begginer's town' at the start of the apocalypse.

He then activated the Memory Crystal, and a holographic interface appeared, and he was the only one who could see it…

It displayed information about the Geno Solution and the High-Grade Geno Arts it contained. The solution was designed to alter his physique, enhancing his body in order to accommodate the Geno Art. Indeed, the sole purpose of the solution was to allow him to learn a specific High Grade Geno Art called Asura's Mantra.

Asura's Mantra wasn't a powerful combat technique that combined physical prowess with mental discipline. It also granted the user an almost impenetrable body partnered with power similar to Telekinesis... Of course, this Telekinesis was limited, and large flying vessels couldn't be moved or controlled.

However, it would finally solve his problems when fighting against those drones who could almost always dodge bullets or even lasers.

'It felt like something I could learn in magical worlds…' Shane thought at the time.

After all, most of the Survivor Skills he learned here weren't too magical. Most of them were related to gun fighting, scavenging, movement techniques, tinkering, bomb-making, or other skills that don't have anything to do with magic.

'Well, that's a High-Grade Geno Art for you…' Shane thought as he decided to consume it now.

He knew that mastering this art could give him the edge he needed to survive and fight back against the A.I. overlords!
