Infinite Potential System

Chapter 406 A Warning

A month later, William had just finished absorbing most of the Lesser and Standard Veins on the Arcturis Continent. Other than the Fate and Karma Veins that were untouched, there were only a total of 25 Greater and 6 Superior Veins left.

William would have been done much sooner if not for the fact that Fria had to regularly log out each night. She wasn't able to stay online 24 hours a day like William, so he had to take her place while fighting the Magical Beasts whenever she was gone.

With the improvements of his Elements, though, this was a very simple task. He made use of the Flaming Space Needle move to pierce through dozens of enemies per second, setting their organs ablaze and burning them to a crisp before they could reach his position.

He never ran out of Mana, and the few attacks that landed on his body caused such a minimal amount of damage that he could completely ignore it. The only downside of the battle was that the Potential Points earned were only related to the real Cultivation of the Magical Beasts and not their strength.

"Is that the best you've got, Heavens?" William smirked as he sent a tsunami of flames to wipe out a hundred thousand Magical Beasts in one move.

-Defeated a Qi Refinement Magical Beast (x35299): +35299 PP

-Defeated a Foundation Establishment Magical Beast (x28090): +56180 PP

-Defeated a...

--Title upgraded to Celestial: +5000 PP

-Beast Slayer (Mythical --> Celestial): You've personally killed at least 100000 Magical Beasts. +100% damage to Magical Beasts.

--Title upgraded to Celestial: +5000 PP

-Multikiller (Mythic --> Celestial): Killed at least 10000 enemies with the same spell or its aftereffects. +100% Area of Effect (AoE) radius.

In total, William only earned a day's worth of Potential Points from the single attack, but at least his two Titles upgraded to their maximum Rank. If he were to fight a Magical Beast on the same level as him now, it wouldn't stand a chance just because of the increased damage.

The clouds rumbled from William's provocation, but nothing changed about the environment. It seemed that peak Tribulation Transcendence enemies were the best the Heavens could do for now, so there was no point in wasting energy when William could kill anything below the Ascended Realm.

Fria returned a few hours later to see a massive pit filled with smoldering Beast corpses. Seeing that there were no other Magical Beasts in the area, she pouted, "Did you leave any for me?"

"Hehe, sorry." William smiled as he scratched his head. He had gotten a little too carried away this time around and had accidentally wiped out the remainder of the group. Even if another portal was made to send Magical Beasts, William doubted there were any left to battle.

The dark clouds brightened as a pair of massive golden eyes appeared in the sky above. It looked left and right across the battlefield very slowly, before locking onto William.

Because of William's X-Rank Physical Charm Talent, his appearance looked less like himself and more like the most ideal image of himself. Because of this, Golden Girl found herself slightly stunned for a moment before she could regather her senses.

William looked up and waved to the pair of eyes above, "Oh, hey Golden Girl! How are you doing on this fine evening?"

The pair of eyes blinked, then narrowed slightly before a massive circle appeared in the sky above. Its designs were incredibly intricate, and the density of Mana was immense, but it wasn't an Array. Instead, William could tell at a glance that this was merely a Magic Spell.

"Get behind me." he told his sister quickly, who didn't hesitate to listen. Fria used her Soul Strength to erect a shield around the both of them, while William opened his Forcefield and used Earth Magic to build a dome.

Using Illusion Magic, William concealed his and Fria's exact position so that the Spell couldn't lock onto them, then waited silently for whatever attack it was to form.

Man, I harvested my Illusion and Time Farms a few days ago, but I haven't eaten the Fruits yet. I could have tested them out on Golden Girl's attack...

An explosion rang out and the Earth Dome trembled, crumbling away to reveal the pair of eyes had drawn closer and were now just a few dozen meters away from William.

"Do you really think hiding is going to help you?"

William scratched his head, "I guess since your eyes are so big you can see all, right?"

"No, that's not—"

"I'm kidding." William laughed at the other party's reaction, "Are you here to kill me?"

"I'm here to warn you."

Fria leaned forward to whisper, "Will, who's that?"

"It's the Heavens, or at least one of them, I think." William tilted his head to reply.

Golden Girl was just the nickname he had given the girl, since she refused to introduce herself on their first meeting.

"Oh, are they strong?"

William shrugged his shoulders, "Probably."

"Are you done? I can hear everything you're saying." Golden Girl was becoming annoyed with William's attitude. He was way too casual considering she was the threat to his very existence.

"One sec." William held up a finger and returned his attention to Fria. "If you ever see one of these "Heavens" individuals, they can't hurt you in this World unless you offend them somehow or break one of their rules.

Once you Ascend, however, the rules change, and they can do whatever they want. This is why you need to be careful not to make them angry."

"How do you know that?" Fria asked.

William pointed to his head, implying that the System had told him once before. In fact, the System had only just now told him at the cost of 800 thousand Potential Points.

Golden Girl didn't know whether to be annoyed with William for continuing to ignore her or surprised that he had such accurate information on the Realmic Rules that bound the Heavens. She glanced between Fria and William, looking for something that would tell her how he found out.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

Additionally, she wanted to know what made William trust this girl so much despite how little they interacted in Efretta.

"22 years old male, 23 years old female... both share a similar aura, but blood doesn't match... the same upbringing? But that doesn't make sense..." she muttered out loud, of which both William and Fria could hear.

She continued, "Their Karma is thick, but they've only had two meetings... which means."

Her eyes widened with shock as she realized something. A ray of golden light shot out from in between the pair of golden eyes, piercing through the sky and traveling to an unknown location in the Ascended Realms.

William and Fria both felt awkward with how Golden Girl was describing them, but he didn't understand where this attitude had come from.

"Are you done being creepy?" he asked.

"Creepy? You'd have to be insane to think— never mind. Think what you must, I'm here to deliver a warning."

"You already said that."

"You! Ugh. Stop absorbing the World Cores or you will suffer. I'm leaving now." the pair of eyes blinked twice and disappeared in an instant, unwilling to stay near William any longer.
