Infinite Potential System

Chapter 407 Skeletal Dragon

William looked over to his sister with a slight grin, "I'm gonna be honest, that warning wasn't very convincing."

Fria smiled and pinched her nose, "Stop absorbing the World Cores or else!" she mimicked Golden Girl's voice.

William burst out laughing and used Illusion Magic to conjure a still image of the golden eyes, controlling them to narrow slightly before copying Golden Girl's voice, "Hmmm 22 years old, a delightful meal for a powerful being like me. Better stop absorbing those Cores or I'm gonna get ANGY!"

-This is an effective use of my abilities...

Fria rolled across the ground while clutching her stomach, "Stop! Stop! I can't anymore!" She opened her eyes and looked up to the sky while still laughing, but then her expression froze.

William continued mocking the girl, "You'd be a fool not to listen to me, I am the overlord of this land, you can't oppose me!"

"Will, quit."

"What? You think you can tell an all-powerful being like me to stop? I answer to no one!"

"No, seriously." Fria pointed to the sky.

William looked up to see a pair of Golden Eyes that carried the heaviest "done with life" expression William had ever seen. He dispersed the Illusion Mana and smiled ingratiatingly, "You're back! Good to see you!"

"Were you mocking me?" Golden Girl asked.

"Whaaat? No..."

Is this really a good idea, System? William asked in his mind.

-Of course. If you anger them now and force them to waste energy, they won't have as much to use in the final stages.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

Won't they hold a grudge for when I Ascend?

-This is hardly worth holding a grudge over. Besides, unsealing the World is probably a bigger threat to them than being mocked.

Alright, it's too late to back down now.

"You were." in the Ascended Realms, Golden Girl clenched her fists tightly.

Damn this mortal brat! If I could take back the gift I gave him, I would.

"What, just this?" William reformed Golden Girl's eyes once more with Illusion Magic but made them absurdly wide.

"Y-You!" a portal formed in the sky as a massive white dragon crawled out from within. Upon closer inspection, the dragon wasn't white, but was rather entirely made out of bone!

[Bestiary] Skeletal Dragon: +1 PP

It opened its maw to release an earth-shattering roar, the resulting shockwave knocking Fria off her feet and forcing her to cover her ears. Beyond her, the few trees still standing across the continent were knocked over, while many of the Tier 6 Barrier Arrays on the cities cracked.

Sensing that a being was present on Efretta that shouldn't, an Ascension Portal automatically formed overhead and started pulling at the Skeletal Dragon. Moments later, the pulling force stopped as a golden light shrouded it and kept the dragon from returning to the Ascended Realms.

William used his Cultivation Talent's Bonus Effect to inspect the Skeletal Dragon, but the little information that showed up surprised him to no end.

[Skeletal Dragon] {Cultivation Unknown}

Cultivation Unknown? But my Bonus Effect should work no matter what, right? William checked through the System Panel to verify.

-Cultivator's Intuition: Can see through others' concealment techniques, revealing their Cultivation without fail.

Yeah, without fail!

-Ascended Beings are an exception. Of course, you never bothered to check before now so you're only just finding out. If you want to view the Cultivation of Ascended Beings, your Cultivation Talent must be Ascended itself.

The System's words made sense, but didn't that mean...

The Skeletal Dragon is a true Ascended Being? Just like Ascended Cultivator Juhi?

-It's much stronger than Juhi.

William now understood why the System wanted him to waste the Heavens' energy now rather than later. If this was only an angry outburst from Golden Girl, would he have to face multiple things at this level in the future?

"I'm surprised you are unaffected by the Skeletal Dragon's roar." Golden Girl mused, "But can you survive an attack?"

The Skeletal Dragon's eyes locked on William, channeling massive amounts of Chaos Mana to its mouth and spewing it over the entire Continent all at once. The mere scale of the attack was enough to block out the sky, causing many natives to cower in fear.

-The Arcturis Continent is on the brink of destruction.

I can see that! William shouted in his mind as he used Gravity Mana to create a makeshift black hole, drawing the Chaos Mana in and expanding in size dramatically. William made use of the Mana Dominator Talent to keep fine control over the Black Hole Spell, maintaining its shape despite the Chaos Mana's attempt to break free.

Once all the Chaos Mana had been absorbed, William channeled his own Chaos Mana into the Black Hole, then opened his Territory of Gravity and swapped the polarity over the Continent.

Since Fria had been designated as an ally, the Territory of Gravity had no effect on her, while the Tier 6 Arrays covering the cities protected the residents. Other than them, everything in range of the Territory including the Black Hole flew upwards, directly towards the Skeletal Dragon.

"Roar!" it bellowed as it tried to use more Chaos Mana, but William had already opened his Reverse Domain of Chaos. Other than what was contained in the Black Hole Spell, there was no Chaos Mana within a hundred kilometers.

The Skeletal Dragon didn't give up, continuing to draw in Chaos Mana from outside the range of William's Reverse Domain, but it was too slow. The Black Hole rammed into the Dragon's chest, cracking some of its bones while fragments flew upwards into the sky.

William reversed gravity again, the bone fragments landing in William's palm before he stored them in his Space Ring. He flipped gravity multiple times, forcing the Black Hole to grind against the Dragon's body continuously, turning its ribcage into a fine dust that would probably be good for Alchemy.

Golden Girl was watching everything from her residence in the Ascended Realms, frowning as she saw the Skeletal Dragon losing every exchange. William's Black Hole Spell was too powerful, and the Skeletal Dragon's Chaos Magic couldn't even reach the boy.

Even as a Magical Beast at the peak of the Ascension Realm, the Skeletal Dragon wasn't a challenge for the human in the first stage of the Soul Formation Realm. Perhaps if it had something that the Gravity Element couldn't counter like Time or Death Magic it would stand a chance, but William would probably have alternatives for that too.

It was laughable, and slightly concerning that William was so strong, but Golden Girl had no intention of telling the others what was going on in Efretta. In fact, William's talent made her even more adamant not to disclose anything.

I just need to make sure that other guy that meddled earlier doesn't say anything. If he's going to send Eternal Tribulations to one of MY Worlds, he better be prepared to do me a favor.

As the Skeletal Dragon's body weakened further and further, Golden Girl sighed. There was a good chance that William would completely unseal the World, and at that point there was nothing she could do.

It's a shame to see that monster released, but oh well. Someone else's problem.
