Chapter 594: Chapter 594 - Commanders of Slumdon

Broken sat in his room with Freya, holding a small black stone he'd taken from his inventory. It was etched with a moon symbol and other mystical markings. It was a Gatestone.

"What's that?" Freya asked.

"This is a Gatestone. It lets me return here instantly, no matter where I am."

"Sorry?"

"I mean, I can come back from my pocket dimension to wherever I set this stone at." "Oh, wow! So that's one of the perks of your new pocket dimension? That's incredible!"

"It's not just incredible, it's completely overpowered."

Broken walked to the center of the room.

"If you could allow others to enter your Pocket Dimension, it'd be even more amazing."

"Yes..." he nodded thoughtfully. "And I agree, this is something I need to keep secret. Like you said, it could be a powerful tactic, making people think I'm somewhere else entirely, only to surprise them with an attack from here."

[Do you want to use the Gatestone at this point?]

"Broken..." Freya spoke up. "If something happened to this place, would you still appear here? This is the top floor, after all."

"Hm... I hadn't thought that far ahead," he admitted, shrugging. "But I don't think we need to worry. I can always get another Gatestone if I need to. I just like the idea of making this place my save point... I mean, it's hidden enough since it's a personal space for me."

He went on to explain to Freya some of the other features he'd discovered about the Unseen Universe of the Moonlight and mentioned his plan to give the passkey to Princess Alora.

"Yes, I think giving the key to Princess Alora was a wise choice," Freya responded. "But it might be even more useful if you had two exit gates. One here and one in the capital."

"Yes, the capital and Slumdon. Those would definitely be my top priorities if I get access to another Gatestone," he replied casually.

[Gatestone set. Would you like to name this location?]

"Yes, name House of Slumdon."

He nodded to himself. "Alright then, I'll make a few preparations before we head for the capital."

Broken felt a surge of excitement with his new upgrades. The Gatestone, the Pocket Dimension-this was truly incredible. Now he no longer had to waste time traveling; he could return to Slumdon whenever he wished, bypassing lengthy journeys entirely. It was a huge advantage!

Though some people had ways to move quickly, like Elincia, who could fly, instant travel was still a priceless asset. If more people knew about these abilities, there would undoubtedly be envy-and plenty who would want the same advantage.

But he could always share his secrets with Freya. And with Alora and Ivana, who both had high affinity levels with him, he felt they could be trusted with the knowledge too.

For the past few days, since Maylock's wife was admitted to the hospital, he'd been absent from the game. This had been a significant setback for the members of the Ass Guild, who had come to rely heavily on his contributions.

Maylock had also been the last person overseeing the Knights in Slumdon Town. Because of his absence, the progress of the Knights' training had stalled as well.

Everyone understood the gravity of his situation, with some even speculating that he might retire from gaming altogether.

No matter how passionate someone might be about this game, real life must always come first. Maylock had put in immense effort and strategy to reach his status here, but when his wife needed him most, his priorities naturally shifted.

Broken was in the meeting room at the House of Slumdon when the door at the far end opened, and five people stepped inside: Igor, Orion, Elowen, Mira, and Cedric. The first four were Knight Commanders, while Cedric had come as a representative for the Fae, who had recently joined the Knights' ranks.

Truthfully, Broken had considered inviting Fang to serve as a Knight Commander too, but Broken was still weighing the risks of bringing the massive wolf into the city. Perhaps it wasn't the right time yet.

"So, everyone," Broken began. "I've gathered you all here to provide direction for our future goals and to reinforce your responsibilities as Knight Commanders."

The room fell into a deep silence as they all turned their full attention to him.

Broken stood up from his chair and announced, "I have chosen a core team for each of you as Knight Commanders. Damir and Ingrid will be under Igor. Karl, Yann, and Anna will be under Orion. Elowen will continue leading the elven knights, Mira with the Beastkin, and Cedric with the faeries."

He glanced around the room, his gaze steady.

"Your first task is to ensure that your core team advances quickly in both level and skill," he said. "This core group needs to be the most dependable unit we have. A special force that could one day rise to the rank of Knight Commander or even higher."

"Yes, my Lord!" they answered in unison.

Broken continued, "Your second task is to maintain security and order in Slumdon Town."

He paused, letting his gaze rest on each of them in turn.

"I'll be in the capital for a few days, and no members of the Ass Guild will be in town during that time either. So, I'm leaving the security of Slumdon entirely in your hands. I don't need to spell out your duties. If anyone dares threaten the peace of this town... eliminate them without hesitation!"

"I shall fulfill your commands, my Lord," Igor declared with confidence.

Broken knew Igor to be both wise and firm, someone who could even easily command Orion's respect.

Orion, for his part, had shown remarkable growth. He was truly stepping up to his duties as Knight Commander, training his team... well, almost too rigorously, but Broken figured it was still within acceptable limits.

Then there was Elowen, the elven knight. She was sharp and cautious, never rushing into action. Broken knew she'd be a reliable support for Igor when it came to making decisions. Mira? She appeared the least confident of the group, but she was by far the most reliable when it came to carrying out her duties. Once she set her mind on something, she never wavered. And Cedric? He'd clearly inherited his father's leadership abilities. He commanded the respect of the faeries and had an inspiring presence among them.

Yes, Broken had five Knight Leaders he could truly rely on.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

He then concluded the meeting. "There are five of you here. I'm giving Igor final authority over decisions in the city. However, in an emergency, if you need a second opinion, you may hold a vote. The majority vote will decide the action to take."

Broken felt confident in this decision. His Knights had grown in both numbers and strength, and with the Gatestone set in Slumdon, he felt secure enough to leave the town for a few days to head to the capital.

The following day, two carriages set off from Slumdon Town, bound for the capital of the Dissidia Kingdom. Broken rode in the same carriage as Freya, Elincia, and Ivana, while

Livelywood, Starfall, Goldrich, and Jovina traveled in the other.

The rest of the Ass Guild had already gathered in the capital, eagerly awaiting Broken's grand announcement—a major revelation that many had been anticipating for some time.
