Chapter 595: Chapter 595 - Countdowns and Conspiracies

Constantine, the Champion of Wrath and Guild Master of Sword of Justice, was hosting a large gathering that day in Valantar City-a city near the border between the Kesseon and Dissidia Kingdoms.

In the same room were representatives from the highest ranks of the Valantar Guilds Alliance, a powerful coalition of guilds based in Valantar City.

This alliance had previously attempted a raid on Slumdon Town, but their plan had failed due to their members' lack of discipline. Now, after enforcing strict reforms, they were determined to return, stronger and more organized.

Constantine rose from his seat. "I think it's time we act. We can't delay any longer," he began.

"Constantine!" Lucy, Guild Master of FairyTool, scoffed. "Sounds like you're just stalling. You talk a big game, but where's the proof?"

Constantine smirked confidently. "I may be silent, but someone as sharp as me always has the best strategy to defeat his opponents. You'll soon see just how strategic I am."

He leaned forward. "The members of the Ass Guild will be gone from Slumdon Town, and Broken is on his way to the capital. This is the perfect chance to attack that silly town and raze it to the ground!"

"We're not cowards who attack a town that's been left undefended," Lucy countered. "We want views, attention. If we make it look too easy, people won't even care."

"No, you're missing the point, Lucy," Constantine replied, pacing slowly in front of the group.

He continued. "Our main goal is to provoke their fury, it's to lure them to Valantar City. Then, we'll have an all-out war between them and Valantar. With the city's knights and our combined strength, we'll make them look like fools for coming after us. That's when we'll claim our real victory."

Constantine's true ambition was to provoke the Dissidia Kingdom into attacking Valantar City, setting off a war between the two kingdoms.

Once that chaos began, he would position himself as the kingdom's savior and seize control of the Kesseon Kingdom from its incompetent ruler. Every detail had been carefully calculated; all he had to do now was wait for his victory to unfold.

"Then what kind of useless support are you offering here, huh? Do you think we can't handle this ourselves?"

"No, of course I'm not underestimating you," he replied calmly. "But I believe a little help from me might make things easier for you. What do you need? More troops? Or something else?"

"Keep that offer for yourself. I'm not interested in taking part in your twisted scheme. We're doing this of our own will," she replied sharply.

Lucy sprang up from her chair. "We will have our revenge on Slumdon Town soon! We'll bring it to the ground! And you can just watch from a distance."

With a final glance at Constantine, Lucy and the others exited the room.

"How foolish these people are," Constantine thought, watching the crowd he could manipulate with such ease.

In a large room in the capital of the Dissidia Kingdom, dozens of players had gathered. One player stood at the front, leading the meeting, his voice ringing with conviction.

"I know we're all here for the same purpose!" he declared passionately. "Because... we are the Princess Alora Fan Club!"

The room erupted into cheers as members began voicing their fervent feelings.

"We must protect Princess Alora's purity!"

"We must not allow anyone to touch Princess Alora!"

"We'll destroy anyone who dares to get close to Princess Alora!"

"We love Princess Alora!"

The group's cries echoed through the room.

The leader raised his voice from the front of the group.

"Soon, Broken will be arriving in the capital, and there will be a party held at the Town Hall," he announced. "And we're all in agreement, we will attack that party! Our one and only goal is to destroy Broken before he can even attempt to seduce our princess! We cannot let that happen!"

"Yes, Broken has broken the rules we set as devoted followers of Princess Alora."

"Exactly. He is just some newcomer hovering around her, and he's not even a member of this fan club."

"We need to send him a serious warning!"

The room exploded in a chorus of agreement, filled with shouts of approval and

determination.

That day, two sizable mobs made their grievances and hostility toward him and his town known.

Each group had its own distinct intention. One set on attacking Slumdon Town, the other focused on assassinating him directly. But it was clear they hadn't fully considered one crucial fact: Broken was not someone to be underestimated.

"Achoo!"

Suddenly, Leon sneezed as he sat in the driver's seat, rubbing his nose.

"Uh, what's up with you? Catching a cold?" Freya, who sat beside him, asked with a smirk.

"No, my nose just started itching out of nowhere."

"I think someone's talking about him," Lily chimed in from the back, giggling.

"Yeah, makes sense. He's a rising star, after all," Freya replied.

Leon gave an awkward smile. "I bet they're talking about how amazing I am, right?"

Freya laughed. "Oh, Leon, you should know. When someone rises, both fans and haters grow right along with them."

"That's... kind of sad," Lily added.

The three of them were on the road in the Home Bus, speeding down the now-quiet streets. Their destination this time was a coastal area, where a long beach stretched along the shore- a popular spot for New Year's Eve. It was the perfect choice for their night. Once they arrived, Leon quickly found the perfect spot near the beach, offering a great view of the shoreline at night as well as the fireworks that would light up the sky later. People were already arriving, some running along the beach while others set up for their evening feasts.

They had arranged a setup on the roof of the Home Bus, where they could grill food and enjoy an unobstructed view of the fireworks. As they finished setting up and organizing everything, night began to settle in.

The three of them gathered on the rooftop, excited for the festivities.

Some people were so eager for the celebration that they'd already started setting off fireworks, even though midnight was still a while away.

They spent the night waiting for midnight by grilling food, eating, and chatting casually. It was a wonderfully calm, relaxing evening. The spot was more crowded than they'd expected, but watching people laugh, run along the shore, and enjoy each other's company made it all the more memorable.

How long had it been since things felt this peaceful? Leon found himself reflecting on everything that had happened over the past year. Exactly a year ago in Yunatea Time, he had received the Blessing of Sloth. And in the real world, only four months had passed.

One year in Yunatea, and he'd been through so much. From meeting the Ass Guild and managing Slumdon Town to expeditions into Hell and the ordeals with the Moonlight Fae.

All of that in a year's time there-just four months in the real world!

"Let's count down, Leon!" Freya said, grinning as she held up her party horn.

The three of them stood together, bracing themselves with their noisemakers in hand.

"Ten..."

"Nine..."

...

"Two..."n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

"One!"

As the fireworks burst overhead, painting the sky in vibrant colors, Leon couldn't help but think to himself, This new year is bound to be even more interesting.
