Chapter 661 How Many?
Ariel glanced at Zach and pointed her brows towards the side where Ramon was standing. And she asked, "Zach, why don't you sit with Ramon?"
Zach narrowed his eyes a little as if to warn Ariel not to play favorites now that her new cousin was there. But since the Goddess was also in the room, he didn't say a word and obeyed what Ariel had asked of him.
Ariel then glanced at Tobias and asked with a wide grin on her face, "Tobias, why don't we sit here?"
Tobias felt a little bad seeing her happy and welcoming when he tried to snap the ship in two just a while ago. But he pushed that feeling aside and made himself comfortable on the sofa.
Kenneth was waiting for Ariel to welcome her grandmother as well. However, it looked like Ariel was too occupied with Tobias and had forgotten about the presence of her grandmother.
So he gestured at the sofa where he was sitting earlier and asked the Goddess with a slight bow, "Heavenly Mother, why don't you take a seat here?"
The Goddess gave a warm smile to Kenneth and took her seat. She then tapped beside her and asked, "You should also sit down. Come."
Kenneth nervously smiled and shook his head. "How can I sit beside you, heavenly mother?" He pointed at the sofa where Ramon and Zach were sitting and said, "I will sit over there."
However, the Goddess denied, "Don't be shy now, Kenneth. Forget that I am a celestial for a while and take a seat. I would love to have some chat with you."
Kenneth was more than honored to hear that from the Goddess herself. He had never expected one of the most powerful beings of the universe to be this easy-going.
He sat down stiffly and asked, "Would you like some tea, heavenly mother?"
The Goddess asked Kenneth in a kind voice, "You can address me as grandma. And yes, I would love a cup of tea."
Kenneth was visibly beaming with happiness when the Goddess asked him to address her as grandma. And he instantly said, "I will be right back, grandma."
Kenneth got up and ran towards the kitchen to order the servants.
The Goddess then focused her attention on the rest of the Royals.
Ariel was indulging Tobias in a conversation. And the other three were trying their best not to stare at either Tobias or at the Goddess.
She smiled and asked those three, "How have you been, kids?"
"We are doing fine, grandma," Zach grinned and answered on behalf of everyone.
He then got up and went to snuggle with her. And he asked in a pampered voice, "Why don't you visit us frequently anymore?"
The Goddess ruffled Zach's light brown hair and answered in her soothing voice, "I've already taught everything to your cousin. Thus, the decline in the frequency of my visit. But I always watch all of you from the Heaven realm. So you better not be naughty."
Zach gave her a suspicious gaze and asked, "You watch me even when I am inside my room?"
The Goddess laughed and replied, "I have no interest in observing you around the clock, Zach."
Kenneth returned back and sat on the empty side beside the Goddess.
The Goddess looked at him and expressed her gratitude, "Kenneth, I am indebted to you for planning this trip and making Ariel come along with you. I know you broke a lot of your bones, quite literally, to make this possible."
Kenneth smiled and shyly rubbed his nape. And he replied, "I wanted to help Ariel get over her trauma. And…" he glanced at Ariel's smiling face and said, "And seeing her happy like this is worth breaking my bones for."
While the Goddess had conversations with the rest of the Royals, Ariel was busy with her newfound cousin.
"So, you knew that I existed, right?" Ariel questioningly raised her brows and gazed into his forest green eyes.
Tobias slightly furrowed his brows and asked, "What kind of question is that? We two are the only grandchildren of our grandparents. So isn't it given that everyone in the Heaven realm would know about your existence?"
"Huh!" Ariel had never thought that she was that popular in Heaven.
She looked at her cousin again and asked, "Then why didn't you ever come to meet me? I would have liked it if we had met when we were kids."
Tobias replied without any change in his expression, "I don't know if you are aware or not but there is a barrier around Wyverndale."n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
"Oh, right!" Ariel pursed her lips.
And Tobias further added, "Besides, I might look your age but I am actually a lot older than you can imagine."
"Ah! Of course," Ariel lightly smacked her forehead for forgetting that looks could be deceptive.
Tobias was curious about Ariel looking similar to his age. So he spoke in a questioning tone, "By the way, when I came here I had expected to meet a child. But you almost look like a grown-up."
Your journey continues with empire
Ariel smiled and stole a glance at her cousins from her mother's side. And she replied, "My cousins were growing up quickly. And I didn't want to be the only one to be stuck in a child's body. So I decided to grow up along with them. And it somehow worked. My height is still not to my expectation though."
As celestials had eternity ahead of them, they aged at a snail's pace. However, Ariel was an exception. She had adapted to her environment to some extent and had aged at a human's pace.
The natives of the netherworld, on the other hand, grew up pretty quickly. But they would be able to maintain their young appearance based on how powerful they were.
Tobias caught a hint of sadness from Ariel and consoled her without meaning to, "Well, you are still very young. Your height will increase with time."
"Right?" Ariel suddenly beamed again and said, "I knew there was still room for me to grow up. Thank you for saying that."
Tobias shrugged and said monotonously, "I was simply stating facts."
He then took the chance to ask the question that he really wanted to, "How many elements can you control, by the way? Last I heard, you were able to control two."
Ariel answered without hiding, "I can control all four elements."
Tobias raised his brows and stayed unmoving for a while. He was too stunned to speak.
Ariel noticed his shocked expression and modestly said, "I still have a lot to improve on though. I can only do small tricks for now."
Tobias finally breathed in and lightly nodded. And he asked, "Which four, if I may ask?"
"Which four?" Ariel was a little confused when she heard that. "I thought that there were only four elements."
"There are five elements in total. We say that there are only four elements since one of those elements can only be controlled by our grandfather." He took a deep breath in and said with a hint of jealously lingering in his voice, "But since you are a special child, I had to ask."
"Which one is controlled by grandfather?" Ariel asked.
And Tobias replied, "Space."
"Oh!" Ariel nodded and answered, "I can control everything except space then."
Tobias gave a crooked smile and said more to himself than to Ariel, "I wouldn't be surprised if you are able to manipulate space as well."
