The Invincible Full-Moon System

Chapter 1210: Securing a Flying Mount (1)

Rex wasted no time and threw Magnarock at the mutated eagle when he caught sight of it.

Finding the mutated eagle was hard because of the limitation set by the Chrono Hollow's rule and also the terrain—so he was not going to let this chance slip away. Considering the heavy weight of Magnarock, the mutated eagle screeched in pain as it fell from the hilltop.

It was a bullseye, Rex's aim was perfect.

His throw landed right before the mutated eagle was able to blast Liliya and Frank.

"Come on, Delta!" Rex shouted as he began sprinting.

Upon hearing this, Delta blitzed ahead as Rex climbed onto her.

On the other hand—Liliya, and Frank saw Delta turning into a trail of white lightning, creating an arc in the sky as she headed to where the mutated eagle crashed. As the two were about to help, they saw a commotion through the thick fog.

Both couldn't see what was making the commotion, but they could see moving shadows.

Just then, the two saw Rex throwing down a gleaming blue object.

It landed right at the commotion.

Puff!

Liliya, and Frank were surprised when the moment the gleaming blue object landed—the fog, around the area where it landed immediately dispersed. A crowd of mutated treants could be seen marching in hundreds towards where the mutated eagle's direction.

None of them were as strong as Magnarock, but they were quite strong.

Moreover, their numbers are a problem.

"His Majesty is telling us to deal with that while he handled the mutated eagle" Frank uttered.

Coming to the same conclusion, Liliya nodded in agreement.

Marking the ground, underneath them with a mark, shaping like intertwining branches of tree roots—Liliya propelled the two of them towards the mutated treants' direction. As she was in the air, she also created the same ark in the sky and exploded it.

A signal to the others to gather and take care of these mutated treants.

Since her training in using her power, she could even draw her mark on nothing but air.

It increased the versatility of her power to a new level.

Crash!

Meanwhile, the mutated eagle wails as it crashes hard onto the ground.

A massive crater was created as it landed alongside Magnarock who was still unconscious.

Pushing Magnarock's big body to the side with its beak, the mutated eagle slowly recovered from the impact but its burning eyes then saw a silhouette circling around its spot. Moreover, it also saw that the fog around was thinning.

Rex and Delta were the ones circling the mutated eagle.

Using the blue gems he found earlier, Rex was thinning the thick fog to clear his vision.

Compared to the mutated falcon, this mutated eagle is weaker. Since its affinity was fire, its standing in the food chain should also be lower than the mutated falcon. But even so, I think searching for the mutated falcon from a high vantage point is better.

It attacked me from above earlier, so the fog above should be thinner.

Having to climb the hills one by one would take too long.

Scouring from the sky, however, would be a quicker way to find the mutated falcon as well as map the entire place. He wouldn't need to climb each hill one by one. Because of that he was planning to use this mutated eagle, but firstly, he would need to make it submit.

Feeling the threat coming from the area, the mutated eagle spreads its wings once again.

It is intending to fly and reach safety.

Rex was not going to allow that as he instantly turned into his Werewolf form.

Grabbing the Everlasting Sweet Berry from the inventory—the mutated fruit, Rex gained from dominating Delta—he tossed it to Delta, as she chomped it down with a bite. It has the ability to quicken the internal flow of energy and also increase speed for a day.

"Aim the right wing, I'll take the left one!" Rex instructed.

Flexing their muscles, Rex and Delta turned into lightning as they dashed ahead.

Just when the mutated eagle was about a dozen feet off the ground—it squealed when both of its wings, were knocked from the front—stumbling it back down, to the ground. One could see a bruise forming on each of its wings.

Making use of its elemental weakness, Rex enveloped its entire body with his water element.

He cast the Splashing Cocoon spell that encased them in a ball of water.

"Look, if you help me find that mutated falcon, I'm going to let you go, I promise!" Rex said.

Even though he didn't know for sure if mutated animals grew smarter—and could understand others, he still decided to try. He could pin the mutated eagle on the ground—but he needs it compliant to search for the mutated falcon.

Other than being able to fly, it also could fly faster than Rex in his Lunar Gladiator Form.

It would be better if Rex could mount this mutated eagle.

As opposed to listening, the mutated eagle's entire body that was covered in black with hues of red feathers burned to a scorching degree. Rex could see, that the Splashing Cocoon spell of his began boiling.

Soon enough, in a spectacular fashion, the mutated eagle's form exploded powerfully.

Kaboom!!

Kree!!

Having the pride of an eagle, it was not going to back down that easily.

Delta was hurled back, by the powerful explosion—her body crashing through numerous tree trunks, with a series of thunderous impacts—all of the trees she hit were splintered. Similarly, Rex staggered under the force of the blast, his skin sizzling from the intense heat.

He clenched his teeth and used his energy to stand his ground.

But the relentless shockwave kept driving him back.

Finally, with a determined stomp, he managed to anchor himself to a strong halt.

Upon recovering from the blast, Rex saw that the mutated eagle was already flying high.

Not going to let the same mistake happen—he pumped his arcane lightning mana from his heart media and sent a massive amount of it to his hands—creating an elemental weapon, that took the shape of long chains.

Crack!

Slapping the ground with the lightning chains, Rex made a powerful leap skywards.

His eyes fixed on the mutated eagle.

As he got close, he lashed the lightning chains at it.

Controlling the trajectory of the lightning chains, with mana—Rex managed to wrap it around the mutated eagle's feet. Naturally, the mutated eagle could feel that its ascension skywards was halted mid-track.

"Not so fast! This will end with me riding you, whether you like it or not!" Rex shouted.

Grinning, he yanked on the chains, pulling the mutated eagle down from the sky.

Boom!

Furious at the fact that it was overpowered by a small and minuscule creature—the mutated eagle tried to overpower him a couple of times. Surprisingly enough—there were some tries, where it managed to pull Rex off of the ground.

But eventually, it was slammed back to the ground, over and over again.

Its bruise spreads, and its bones rattle from the impact.

Boom!

Once again, Rex slammed the mutated eagle to the ground, his muscles sore from the bout.

Climbing onto the mutated eagle's body, he looked at it in the eyes.

"Are we done now?" Rex asked, slightly panting. "I'm not aiming you—I'm aiming the mutated falcon. If I killed it, wouldn't it not be better for you? You would dominate the sky after I leave, and you could practically do whatever you want"

Rex bargained, trying to make the mutated eagle understand that this would be its win too.

However, he fell back down when the mutated eagle slapped him away with its wing.

In anger, he went back to his feet but was surprised by the sight.

Upon standing back up, he was greeted by the mutated eagle—standing on its feet, with its massive wings spread to the side, making itself look abnormally bigger. Moreover, for once, Rex could feel his senses were becoming alert.

Even a goosebump washed over him as he made eye contact with the mutated eagle.

Behind its eyes, Rex could see an immense amount of killing intent.

Scanning its stats once again, Rex was surprised to see its physical stats were rising.

<Warning!>

<Warning!> .net

<The mutated eagle is preparing to cast the Sun Ash skill!>

Rex kept his entire body from moving a muscle lest the mutated eagle decided to strike.

He could see that the mutated eagle's energy was gathering at its beast core—it circled the beast core lightly—and Rex could feel that if he moved, that energy would seeped instantly, into the beast core.

"It's going to sacrifice its beast core to kill me. If it did, it's going to be ugly..." Rex mused.

An Awakened could sacrifice their core to gain a devastating but temporary boost of power.

Even though they would end up dead, their enemies would be too.

Just like an Awakened, the mutated eagle also seemed to possess that ability, and Rex would not want it to do that as he needs it—and it would also be problematic. Sensing Delta coming from the side, Rex extended his hand, signaling for her to stop.

Provoked anymore than this, the mutated eagle would sacrifice its beast core.

Cautiously, the mutated eagle looked at Delta before returning its gaze toward Rex.

Slowly, Rex reverted back to his Human form and vanquished his aura with his hands raised.

"Easy there, we're not going to hurt you," Rex uttered lightly.

As he uttered that, he gestured to Delta, telling her to lie prone on the ground.

Both of them needed to show that they were not going to hurt it again.

<Does the user want to purchase the Golden Flame Apple for 2 million gold?>

"Yeah, I think there's no other choice," Rex mused.

It was a mutated fruit that the System suggested earlier to help subdue the mutated eagle.

A satisfied animal is more inclined to be subservient.

Seeing the mutated eagle being cautious—staring daggers into them, Rex does not have any other choice—than to take, the soft approach. Currently—the mutated eagle is trapped in an alert state.

Rex needs to snap it out of its trance for the situation to de-escalate to normal.

Upon purchasing the Golden Flame Apple, Rex took it out from the inventory and summoned it to his hand. In the next second—a radiant, flickering fiery golden apple appeared that was able to instantly catch the mutated eagle's attention.

Despite that, it was still shifting its gaze back and forth from the mutated fruit and Rex.

Seeing that the mutated eagle is interested, Rex slowly approaches.

"I'm not going to hurt you anymore, we're done fighting," He uttered.

Rex took one step at a time and reached out his right hand that was holding the apple.

Just when he saw that the mutated eagle was stressed, he quickly stopped.

Bending down in the same slow manner, he put the mutated apple on the ground.

Still cautious—the mutated eagle walked forward—approaching the mutated apple when it saw Rex was backing away. Since the Golden Flame Apple emits a tantalizing energy—it is hard for the mutated eagle to resist it.

Eventually, it reached the Golden Flame Apple and bent down to bite it.

However, as soon as it did, flames erupted.

Swoosh!!

Almost instantly with a bite—the golden flames from the Golden Flame Apple coursed like a serpent around the mutated eagle's body. Rex could even see, that it was merging and also making the mutated eagle's original fire stronger.

"Hold on a minute, does that fruit have a strengthening effect too...?" Rex mused in question.

<Notice: Yes, it contained potent energy akin to an elemental stone>

Rex smiled wryly when he saw this notification.

He only wanted to break the mutated eagle's trance so that it wouldn't act recklessly.

But if it was charged with more energy, because of the Golden Flame Apple—then there is a higher chance that it would attack again. Nevertheless—as long as it didn't use the Sun Ash skill the System warned him about, it would be fine.

Seeing that the energy dispersed from the mutated eagle's beast core, Rex moved.

Gripping the lightning chains, Rex slipped the chains between the mutated eagle's beak.

Rex secured his hold, making a steering wheel to mount this massive bird.

However, in response, the mutated eagle screeched and flew darted into the heavens.

"We're good now, right? So slow the fuck down!" Rex yelped as he got dragged skywards.
